Over 20,000 visitors are expected to get a first-hand glimpse at some of the finest watches in the world.

They say that one of the best ways to make a statement without saying a word is to make a big impression with what you wear. As far as style statements go, it’s hard to beat an exquisite timepiece around your wrist that says it all – style, class, precision, perfection and elegance. Dubai International Jewellery Week (DIJW), the region’s premier watch and jewellery exhibition, has earned a reputation over the years for being an event that is ahead of its time, and this year, the show is poised to sparkle more than ever with an exquisite collection of timepieces.

More than 500 brands, visitors, designers, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers from 30 countries are set to share the stage at this year’s event, with the finest collection of timepieces seen in the region all under one roof. Many of the luxury timepieces will be featured in Areeq Dubai, the ultra-luxurious arm of DIJW which will showcase brands from the crème-de-la crème of the jewellery world. The biggest brand names and the most prominent watch distributors and exhibitors from the region and beyond, including Bin Hendi, Charles Oudin and Breitling to name a few, will be vying for the spotlight at the three day event that will attract the finest of Dubai high society.

If any indication was needed about the rising demand for quality timepieces, it lies in the increased ad spend by the watch and jewellery industry. Brands are raising the bar and digging deep into their pockets to get noticed and stay a step ahead of the competition, resulting in the ad spend for last year alone clocking in at $151.9 million, a remarkable 16.6% increase from 2006*. With the watch assuming a significant standing as a status symbol, the need to be different and stand out from the crowd is at an all time high. Customization is in, and is here to stay, and DIJW 2008 will provide the perfect platform for a series of new launches, niche designs and futuristic trends that will be unveiled for the very first time.

Money is not a barrier for elite, high profile executives who seek individuality and exclusivenessâ€? says Mr. Haissam Chamsine, Senior Vice President for Watches and Jewellery at Bin Hendi, one of the key exhibitors. “Over the years we have catered for various special custom made watches with retail prices ranging from AED 2 million to AED 6 million. Our most popular orders would be customised dials with initials, names or logos in fancy coloured diamonds, as well as a choice of bracelets, Bezels with diamonds, pave or baguette. The precious metal used here varies from Yellow, Rose or white gold as well as the most expensive Platinum. These are of course limited to only one or two pieces of luxury, which guarantees individuality and exclusivity he adds. Bin Hendi’s elite customers, like Jacob & co, Ulysse Nardin, Franc Vila, Nubeo and De La Cour, have been a popular target for customisation. The group has also introduced the GoldVish, the latest, most exclusive and most expensive mobile phone in the market, which will now join the existing luxury brands to get an exclusive customized touch.

The GCC has always possessed a population that has a thorough understanding of quality jewellery and timepieces said Ms. Trixee Loh, Senior VP, Exhibitions and Events Management, Dubai World Trade Centre. This coupled with their high-spending power and a thriving per capita income makes the region a perfect market for high-end jewellery and timepieces, making DIJW which incorporates Areeq, the ideal place to get a first-hand feel of the best in the business he added.

With the biggest names in the industry, an extremely high glamour quotient, a series of new launches and special events and lots more in store, Dubai International Jewellery Week is one show that any connoisseur of fine jewellery and timepieces cannot afford to miss. The event will be held from 11 to 15 November 2008 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Jewellery Collections Dubai and Jewellery Trade Dubai, the Retail and Trade elements of the show will take place from 11 to 15 November, while the Luxury event Areeq Dubai will be held from 13 to 15 November.

A record year for diamond trading sets the stage for a promising show

Jewellery Trade Dubai, the trade wing of Dubai International Jewellery Week and the only business-to-business watch and jewellery event in the Middle East, will have a special spotlight on diamonds this year, and rightly so. The rapidly growing diamond trade in the region has been one of the instrumental reasons behind the establishment of a trade element as part of the high profile event, giving local, regional and international diamond traders a tailor-made platform to leverage their potential.

Dubai’s diamond trade has witnessed a record growth in 2007, increasing by 53% to reach $11.23 billion and confirming the Emirate’s role as an international diamond hub. According to the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), the Emirate’s rough diamond trade saw a 29% increase from 2006 to reach 4.82 billion, with trade in polished diamonds rising a massive 88% to hit $6.41 billion. Mr. Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the executive chairman of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the parent group of DDE, reconfirmed Dubai’s new global standing in the global diamond market. “2007 has been a year of record growth for the UAE diamond trade which has crossed the psychological mark of $10bn. Dubai has become now a mature diamond centre, combining its role as an international hub, a regional distribution centre and a local consumer market said Mr. Sulayem, justifying the increased focus on diamonds at Jewellery Trade Dubai. The special focus on diamonds at Jewellery Trade Dubai will play a key role in supporting and promoting the industry said Ms. Trixee Loh, Senior VP, Exhibitions and Events Management, Dubai World Trade Centre. We are in the midst of an unprecedented boom, and providing a niche platform for the biggest players in the industry to meet, interact and establish new relationships will go a long way in complementing this upswing she added.

Some of the biggest trade players in the local and international diamond market, including Shrenuj, Dimexon Eurostar and Rosy Blue, will play a significant role in the show. Dubai is in the midst of a very exciting time for diamonds said Sumit Kothari, Director, Shrenuj DMCC. While the local consumption is definitely on the rise, Dubai is also emerging as the leading trading hub for the entire Middle East. For us, Jewellery Trade Dubai presents an exciting opportunity to meet new customers and display our comprehensive product range. It is a fantastic platform to showcase our companys products, and the same goes for other companies as well he added. Mr. Harshad Mehta, Chairman of diamond giant Rosy Blue, was equally optimistic. We are extremely bullish about the diamond industry in the Gulf region, and particularly the UAE. We are planning to increase our presence in the Gulf market, which we see as a major sales centre because the growth in tourism” said Mr. Mehta.

This will not be the first time that diamonds have come under the spotlight at the event. Last year’s event saw the launch of The Diamond Academy, which proved to be a huge success. Exhibitors and traders at the event will be further supported by a workshop programme featuring presentations on Diamonds, Gold, Pearls and Gemstones.

Lending a solid helping hand to the flourishing industry and the event are leading international and regional associations formed to specifically promote the industry and maintain the highest standards of quality. The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, International Diamond Laboratories and Dubai Diamond Exchange have played a key role in the industry’s rise, and continue to play an active part in its future plans. There is a strong industry demand for accurate diamond grading services which assure customers that the diamonds they purchase are of the exact quality they expect. IDL certificates are a trademark of quality, objectivity and trust and we are proud to extend our services to diamond jewellery. We aim to provide precise grading through a scientific and objective approach using cutting edge technologies? said Mr. Peter Meeus, CEO of IDL.

Dubai International Jewellery Week 2008 is scheduled to be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 11-15 November 2008. For the first time the show will bring together two of its three key components – Jewellery Collections Dubai and Jewellery Trade Dubai – to offer a comprehensive retail and trade experience to visitors and exhibitors alike from 11 to 15 November 2008. Areeq Dubai, the Luxury event which includes brands from the car-me-de-la crme of the jewellery world, will be held from the 13 to 15 November. Dubai International Jewellery Week is supported by the Dubai Diamond Exchange, Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group, International Diamond Laboratories and World Gold Council.

The five day extravaganza comes to a close, with more sales, more visitors and more features than ever before

The curtain came down on the dazzling Dubai International Jewellery Week yesterday. The excitement was evident from start to finish at the five day extravaganza, with over 17,000 people attending the event held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 11 to 15 December.

Dubai World Trade Centre, the organiser of the show, had delivered an event of unprecedented scale, scope and size. The show’s new three-event format, Areeq Dubai, Jewellery Collections Dubai and Jewellery Trade Dubai, was a resounding success, with exhibitors and visitors alike enjoying the experience. Over 400 companies from 25 countries took part in the event, and recorded millions of Dirhams worth of sales on-site as well on future deals over the coming months. Numerous luminaries of the timepiece and jewellery world, including regional giants like Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, Al Tayer, Bin Hendi, Damas, Dhamani, Istana and many more made their presence felt at the show, with a majority of them unveiling their new collections for the coming year during the course of the event. “We are extremely pleased to report that the public and the exhibitors have welcomed the new format. The show has once again proved to be a huge success in connecting the major players in the jewellery industry with the region’s key buyers and it is impressive to see an overall increase in sales figures, attendance numbers and popularityâ€? said Mr. Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai World Trade Centre.

Mr. Jatia Acharya, Damas Senior International Brand Manager (HOD) praised Areeq Dubai by saying, “We were very pleased with the concept, feel and design of Areeq Dubai. Some of our brands actually revealed their 2008 collections here in Areeq Dubai because they were confident that this show would bring them in touch with the most elite crowds and hence the right consumers for their supreme brands. Some of these collections haven’t even been launched yet in their countries of origin.

Mr. Rolf D. Kruschel, of Chopard Geneve exhibiting along with Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, their retail partner, remarked on exhibiting at Areeq Dubai by saying, “This is our initial presence at Dubai International Jewellery Week and we are very pleased with the outcome of the show. With Areeq Dubai being exclusive to the world’s premium brands, we feel that it was the perfect environment for our very prestigious brand. We have built good relations with potential customers and feel that we have brought our product closer to our target audience.

Jewellery Collections Dubai, the ultimate retail event of the year, had its own share of glamour and grandeur. The largest and most popular retailers in the region, and from across the world, were in attendance, including country pavilions from exotic jewellery markets from 10 handpicked countries. A fashion show by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and the inimitable Rainbow Collection of over 300 diamonds were just two of the shining lights in this one-of-a-kind show. Forever Jewels, a key exhibitor at Jewellery Collections Dubai reported a 40 % increase in wholesale in comparison to their sales achievements in 2007.

With the Mahalati Jewellery Group being manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers, we benefited extensively from the wide range of consumers and trade professionals who visited the Dubai International Jewellery Week, this year. It is great that there is a luxury, retail and trade event all happening in the same week. This allows for a shared consumer base and inevitably better business opportunities, commented Mr. Mehran Mahalati, Vice President Mahalati Jewellery Group who also announced a 100% increase in his wholesale transactions when compared to figures from last year’s event.

Jewellery Trade Dubai, the sole trade-only watch and jewellery event in the region, was billed as an event that no one associated to the jewellery industry can afford to miss, and it proved to be all that and more. Thousands of traders from across the world came together, and the result was sores of new partnerships, enhanced deals and fresh relationships. A series of seminars featuring industry leaders, CEO’s and analysts kept the trade-only audience tuned into the present and future state of their industry.

Mr. Deepak V Lakhi, Managing Director, Sparklers DMCC said, We successfully unveiled our Pristine Heart Diamond at Jewellery Trade Dubai. There was very positive feedback to our launch with plenty of potential buyers. We have come in contact with many jewellers at the show, which is great for us as we are currently searching for the appropriate exclusive retailer to sell our very special product. The Pristine Heart Diamond was launched for the first time in the Middle East during the show and we are positive that there couldn’t have been a better venue to do so.

Ms. Golnaz, Canadian Iranian citizen and a visitor of the retail show commented, “Jewellery Collections Dubai had a very impressive collection of international exhibitors, when compared to other similar exhibitions around the region.
Ms. Maria Oliverio, a Jewellery Designer said, “I found the Dubai International Jewellery Week to be very well-organised and was happy to find such a diverse collection from around the world.

Mrs. Salama Al Marri, one of the three winners of the Dhamani Diamond Promotion commented on winning at the show by saying, I have enjoyed the show tremendously and felt very welcome by everybody. I will be the first one in line at next year’s show.

Dubai International Jewellery Week proved itself as a serious player in the Middle Eastern Jewellery Industry. Dubai International Jewellery Week looks forward to the next edition which is scheduled for 11 – 15 November 2008 and anticipates a bigger and better event.

A stunning Private Preview for Areeq Dubai
Wows the Crowds at Dubai International Jewellery Week

Dubai International Jewellery Week, the most anticipated jewellery event of the year, got off to a spectacular start with a glittering inauguration ceremony yesterday at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The new format of the show, featuring three distinct events under one roof, Areeq Dubai, Collections Dubai and Jewellery Trade Dubai were officially unveiled. The inauguration was followed by a select group of invitees being treated to a one-of-a-kind preview event in a setting that was every bit as glamorous, regal and stunning as the jewels on display and the guests in attendance.

The chief guest for the evening, HH Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director General of the Department of Information, declared the Dubai International jewellery Week open. After the inauguration, Sheikh Hasher and his VIP entourage toured the exhibition and got a glimpse of the latest collections unveiled by over 400 of the biggest names in the jewellery industry.

The finale of the tour, took Sheikh Hasher and his entourage to one of Dubai’s newest social events – the Private Preview of Areeq Dubai, the ultra-luxurious arm of Dubai International Jewellery Week. A selection of the finest and most exquisite jewellery and timepieces from around the world were on display, giving salubrious guests an exclusive sneak-peek of what will be in store over the coming days. The latest creations by such luminaries like Adler, Carrera Y Carrera, Chopard, Harry Winston, Mikimoto and Pasquale Bruni to name just a few were on display, and that set the stage for the main even of the evening.

The tour cumulated with the arrival of the much-awaited unveiling of the Gianfranco Ferre masterpiece, $1.3 million diamond-studded top. VIPs and jewellery collectors all crowded together to watch as the event unfolded. Emerging upon a chaise lounge held high, a beautifully choreographed event with black, silver and glitter aplenty, wowed the crowed as the masterpiece studded with over 900 stunning Dalumi diamonds mounted in 18K white gold was revealed. The 300 carat top is complemented by black tuxedo pants and a black silk cape, and the guests were offered the opportunity to take part in a silent auction to make this stunning work of art all his own.

A Spokesman of Gianfranco Ferr SpA commented on the Inauguration Event of the Dubai International Jewellery Week by saying, “The great success of the inauguration event and especially, the private preview of the diamond top auction confirms our views that this was the finest and most appropriate context to present our unique creation in the Middle East. It was a magical, glamorous and elegant evening. The atmosphere could be described as “One thousand and One Nights. It was exactly what we expected. Off-course it was also a wonderful occasion to re-confirm and strengthen our position and visibility in Dubai, an area which has played an extremely important role in our global business strategies and that is quickly becoming more and more important, especially with the opening of our local branch here. We would like to express our full appreciation for the excellent standard and for the appeal the Areeq event has generated.

Mr. Yuval Kemp, Director Marketing and Business Development for Dalumi Group commented, “We were very happy with the Gianfranco Ferre Event yesterday evening. We feel that Areeq Dubai was the perfect venue to reveal this very special top in the Middle East. We received great interest from the visitors at the event with regards to the top and its auction. We strongly believe that Dubai is the most suitable city to appreciate the Gianfranco Ferre Masterpiece which is studded with 900 Dalumi diamonds. Our representatives are constantly at Areeq Dubai to answer any questions potential buyers may have about the job and the auction.

The bidding process was outlined to the elite guests present, with bidding beginning from US$ 650,000 and continuing until the 15 December. Representatives of Gianfranco Ferre and Dalumi, the two parties responsible for this stunning fusion of fashion and jewellery, spoke to the gathering about the intricacies of the creation, although taking one’s attention away from the top was not easy.

Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai World Trade Centre, the show’s organiser, was delighted with the response to the Private Preview and the auction. “It’s hard to put a price on something so exclusive, but the people of the region know good jewellery when they see it, and we are sure that everyone here and thousands of others will get a lot more than they expected at the showâ€? he said. All in all, it was the perfect prelude to a show that promises to give the jewellery shopper a choice like no other over the next two days, he concluded.

Dubai International Jewellery Week, looks forward to welcoming guests and visitors over the next three days from the 11-15 December at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The exhibition opens from 4pm and 10pm, A minimum age restriction of 16 years applies for entry into the show.

The Stage is Set for the Ultimate Jewellery Shopping Experience

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

From connoisseurs to wholesalers and collectors to retailers, Dubai International Jewellery Week’s new three-show format has something for everyone

Being spoilt for choice is a term that is often used, but never has it been more apt than for what’s in store at the upcoming Dubai International Jewellery Week taking place from the 11-15 December at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The region’s premier watch and jewellery event presents its new format this year with an unparalleled array of choice for the jewellery shopper with a discerning taste and budget.

The strategic position of the three jewellery events, Areeq Dubai, Jewellery Collections Dubai and Jewellery Trade Dubai, will provide traders with tremendous synergy and benefits exclusive to Dubai International Jewellery Week. Three distinct shows under one roof, each one with its special brand of exclusivity, will ensure that everyone from the high-end connoisseur to the mass-market wholesaler gets what he or she is looking for.

The region’s rapidly escalating jewellery market further supports the new format. According to the World Gold Council, gold sales in the UAE crossed AED 2.8 Billion during the second quarter of this year, a 22% increase over the same period last year. The regional luxury goods sector is expected to reach a value of $100 billion (about Dh367.8 billion) by 2010, with 8% expected to come from high-end watches and jewellery. It explains why over 400 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, including the biggest brands, largest retailers and most influential wholesalers in the region are eager to be part of Dubai International Jewellery Week. “Giving visitors and exhibitors a unique choice and variety is central to the thinking behind the new format said Mr. Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai World Trade Centre. “Having all aspects of this industry on one show floor yet according each one of them the importance and focus they deserve, will ensure that the show is more targeted, yet all-encompassing than ever before he added.

The exclusive Areeq Dubai, designed to cater to the high-end jewellery connoisseur, will feature a selection of the finest jewellery and timepieces that money can buy. Some of the most exquisite jewellery houses from the region and beyond will be a part of this star-studded event. Among the key collections on show, are Al Tayer Group’s insignia which will be on prominent display. Their luxury retail division is all set to showcase a timeless collection of jewels and watches from a host of celebrity jewellery and timepiece designers from the style capitals of the world including New York, Italy, Britain and France. A collection of extraordinary hand¬crafted dazzling diamond necklaces and chic pieces that harmonize everyday wear will be on display courtesy Istana. Designed by such luminaries like Adler, Picchiotti and Henry Dunay to name a few, Istana’s display promises elegance and grandeur at its subtle best. Damas, the award-winning UAE based jewellery giant, will also feature its exquisite range at the show including designs by some of the industry’s biggest names like Paspaley, Carrera y Carrera, Fope and Tiffany. A stunning show with models sporting the latest Damas creations will take place at the VIP Nespresso Lounge and one lucky guest a day will walk away with a diamond from Dhamani.

Other glittering highlights at Areeq Dubai include the unique unveiling at the show preview day of a one-of-a-kind Dalumi-diamond studded top featuring over 900 diamonds mounted in white gold designed by Gianfranco Ferre and valued at a staggering $1.3 million.

Dubai World Trade Centre, the show’s organiser, has pulled out all the stops to support the key retail and trade sections of the industry by giving them exclusive platforms at Dubai International Jewellery Week. Jewellery Collections Dubai, the retail arm, will be Dubai’s ultimate retail jewellery event of the year. Visitors to the event can see hundreds of jewellery manufacturers from across the globe under one roof including stunning displays from national pavilions from India, Italy, Hong Kong, Korea, Pakistan, Thailand and Turkey. The show will feature a series of firsts, including two of the global leaders in the industry, Rosy Blue and Pure Gold, coming together to launch the ‘Journey of Love’ Omri pendant. Euro Pearls, the leading London-based pearl suppliers, will showcase an extensive range of South Sea and Tahitian pearls, adding a touch of exotica to the show. Rich chocolate pearls, a new line of gemset pearl jewellery and a range of baroque pearl jewellery will also be a part of the Euro Pearls portfolio for the show. Diamond specialists Taka Jewellery and Fancy Diamonds will also vie for attention, featuring a new and contemporary range as well as elaborate designer pieces. There is a lot more in store, including the collection by Su-Raj Inter Gold, renowned for the ‘natural delicacy’ in their designs. A Trunk Show, featuring an eclectic fusion of fashion and jewellery will present a bevy of models draped in his designer diamond studded creations parading around Jewellery Collections Dubai, enhancing the already electric atmosphere.

Jewellery Trade Dubai, the only ‘trade-only’ watch and jewellery event in the Middle East, will have its spotlight firmly on the all-important trade sector.. Key exhibitors such as the Italian Machinery Pavilion, Plachem International Trading, Shrenuj International and Bijoux Tec present a fantastic array of machinery and jewellery, These displays are accompanied by a series of free trade seminars, featuring CEO’s, market analysts and major players from the jewellery trade segment, to ensure jewellery professionals network as well as take away some key business practices and new trends. The who’s-who of the industry will elaborate on the finer points of jewellery trade, including Dr. Francesco Natale, the G.G., Laboratory Director of International Gemological Institute, who will speak on Laboratory Procedures and Current Marketing Trends in the Industry. Established industry-specific organisations like the Dubai Diamond Exchange, the International Diamond Laboratories and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre will use the show to announce a series of new masterplans and landmark projects designed to further bolster this lucrative industry.

The new format seems to have got a unanimous thumbs-up from everyone concerned. “The market has grown in leaps and bounds over the years, and visitors expect a lot more with each passing show said Vishal Vora, Managing Director of VRAMS Diamonds, a Jewellery Trade Dubai exhibitor. “Having shows with distinct target audiences helps us focus on specific requirements and give people more value for their time and money. As we are one of the largest producers of Tappers, Baguettes, Rose Cuts and Princess polished diamonds in the world, we keep all goods in calibrated mm size ,and offer colors ranging from white to lower browns, ttlc, fine make, and a show like this opens up new avenues for us. he added.

JEWELLERY TRADE DUBAI, THE PERFECT PLATFORM FOR DUBAI’S JEWELLERY RETAIL TRADE MARKET WHICH STANDS AT $1.5B

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

This year’s Dubai International Jewellery Week features an exclusive traders-only show, Jewellery Trade Dubai

The Dubai International Jewellery Week (formerly known as Watch & Jewellery Dubai) has unveiled a brand new format for 2007. Firmly established as the leading show of its kind in Dubai, the event has seen the number of visitors and exhibitors rapidly rising with each passing edition. This year, the organiser Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has repositioned the show to present Dubai International Jewellery Week featuring three specific shows dedicated to targeted sectors of the jewellery industry. Besides the ultra-luxurious Areeq Dubai and the retail-specific Jewellery Collections Dubai, the show will have a dedicated event devoted to the all-important trade professionals of the industry – Jewellery Trade Dubai.

Jewellery Trade Dubai is the sole trade only focused jewellery event in the Middle East, giving serious buyers, industry professionals and international traders a golden opportunity to meet, interact and share the latest information amongst their peers. Traders, manufacturers and suppliers from the Gulf, North Africa, India and beyond will be a part of the event. With Dubai’s jewellery retail trade standing at $1.5 billion, having an exclusive traders-only platform makes perfect business sense. The trade exhibition plays a crucial role in the success of the jewellery industry,â€? said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of DWTC the show’s organiser. The traders are in the best position to network with fellow industry players from across the globe, and their ability to reach out to a mass market cannot be underestimated. Jewellery Trade Dubai offers traders and serious buyers an exclusive platform to strengthen their reach and potential and underlines how crucial their contribution is he added.

A host of strategic initiatives lends a strong support system to the jewellery traders market in the UAE. Trade and retail bodies like the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange, and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) have exclusive international affiliations and have been established to promote the jewellery trade and maintain the highest quality standards possible. These focused organisations will be working in close conjunction with Dubai International Jewellery Week and DWTC to ensure that this booming trade market gets all the support and promotion it needs.

We are very excited to be a part of Dubai International Jewellery Week once again said Mr Youri Steverlynck, the CEO of Dubai Diamond Exchange. “Both our organisation and the Dubai International Jewellery Week have similar target markets, common goals and shared audiences. Joining hands will only result in assisting the market to develop and grow, he added.

As a member of the World Trade Organisation, the UAE has extensive trade relations and strong foreign economic ties with more than 165 countries across the globe, further strengthening the potential for jewellery trade. With Dubai’s gold exports expected to double over the next five years, the stage is set for this one-of-a-kind, traders-only forum to add to the momentum.

Leading companies already exhibiting at Jewellery Trade Dubai include some of the biggest names in the market, such as AMC, DDE, Dhamani, Dhruvstar, DMCC, Renaissance Diamonds and Shrenuj. Mr. Deepak Lakhi, Managing Director of Sparklers International, said “We have participated in, and visited numerous shows with diverse target audiences, but a platform like Jewellery Trade Dubai is markedly different. Since it is a trade only show, it gives us the opportunity to meet a focused target audience. We are one of the largest producers of polished diamonds in the world, producing diamonds of all sizes from below one pointer to above 1.00 carat and in colors ranging from white to lower browns, in fine make, and a show like this opens up new avenues for us. We will be using the show as a platform to unveil a one-of-a-kind diamond called Pristine Hearts, which has a worldwide patent. Each of these unique diamonds has a heart carved in it and is created by master craftsmen. We look forward to interacting with numerous important industry players at the show.

An important aspect of Jewellery Trade Dubai will be a series of free trade seminars that will be held during the show. Featuring CEOs and Directors of renowned jewellery houses as well as senior industry analysts, the trade seminars will touch upon all areas including finance, new products, laboratory procedures and emerging markets. The distinguished panel of speakers will include Mr Moaz Barakat of the World Gold Council, who will share crucial insights about marketing gold jewellery as an everyday fashion item. Mr Russell Shor of Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will touch upon a variety of topics from thriving international markets like China and Africa to new products and even how new financial developments will affect the industry. The scientific side of things like the latest laboratory techniques and new marketing ideas will be discussed in detail by Mr Roland Loire of International Gemological Institute (IGI).

Jewellery Trade Dubai will be held in Hall 4 of the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre between 4pm and 10pm on the 11- 13 December 2007. Professionals wishing to take part in Jewellery Trade Dubai can register in advance online at www.jewelleryshow.com or onsite at the venue. A minimum age restriction of 16 years applies for entry into the show.
