Two Major Trade Associations in Guangdong Province and Hong Kong Join Hand to Co-host 2011 International (Shenzhen) Metal Casting Show in Shenzhen this May

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

(Hong Kong, 1 March 2011) The Hong Kong Diecasting and Foundry Association (HKDFA) and Guangdong Foundry Industry Association (GDFIA) are pleased to announce the co-host of the 2011 International (Shenzhen) Metal Casting Show (IMCS) to be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from 25-27 May 2011. Being the core industrial area for China’s die-casting and foundry industry, Southern China presents a huge market potential with high demand for a professional exhibition. Backed by the proven track record of the last three editions organized by HKDFA, IMCS will continue it success and reach new heights with the partnership of HKDFA and GDFIA in 2011. Many leading enterprises showed support by confirming their participations. The favourable feedback demonstrated the superiority of these two major non-profit trade associations to gather industry peers in organizing a professional trade show.

Established by the Hong Kong Foundry Association and Hong Kong Diecasting Association in July 2008, HKDFA is the only leading association in the industry and is highly recognized worldwide. As the leading industry association, GDFIA has nearly 100 members. By centralizing the resources of these two associations, 2011 IMCS serves as a major trade event in Southern China grouping industry elites not only from China, but also Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and even Southeast Asia. At the moment, sales feedback of booth reservation is encouraging. Leading enterprises in the industry, such as Yizumi, Chit Shun, Ka Shui, Shunking, Pan Pacific, Acme Alliance, Hoi Hing, Lee Kee, Ultraform, Jeco Precision, L.K. Machinery, Dongguan Modern Metal Precision, Apex Rank, Cheong Fai, Wan Ho, Eontec, Konch, Hong Bang, Zhong Tian, Go Star, Foundry Metal Work, Ming Shing, etc. have already confirmed their participation. It is expected that the show will attract 150 exhibitors with number of booths exceeding 350. Exhibit categories to be displayed at the show range from die-casting equipments to die-castings and foundry raw materials, industrial automation technology, mold & die technology and foundry equipment and industrial furnaces technology. “Southern China needs a high-quality exhibition platform for closer communications and collaborations in order to boost the industry development. The partnership of 2011 IMCS just answers the needs of the industry,” said Tang Jie Xiong, president of GDFIA.

A series of high-quality onsite activities will be held concurrently with 2011 IMCS. Among them is 2011 China/Hong Kong/Taiwan Metal Casting Industry Co-operation Forum, which is organized by HKDFA and co-organized by China Foundry Association and Taiwan Casting Industry Association. The Forum will invite local and overseas enterprise representatives, industry experts and scholars to address an array of hot topics. The “Metal Casting Production Line Showcase” provides exhibitors with a high level of exposure in a diverse range of pre-show promotional materials. They can also introduce their products and technologies at the Industry Conference. The Best Casting Competition aims to enhance the quality of casting products and promote fine-quality casting. Meanwhile, Industry Conference will feature well-known experts and senior management executives as speakers, offering educational opportunities for visitors. 2011 IMCS not only offers exhibitors and visitors a trading platform for product procurement and order placing, but also various educational opportunities to obtain first-hand information.

Extensive show promotion and recruitment of high-quality visitors are the main highlights of 2011 IMCS. This is also the fundamental element for the success of the show. The Organizer’s database contains more than 100,000 buyer data, with industry covering electronics, transportation, heavy machinery, toys, gifts and accessories, petrochemical, automobile, lighting & hardware, computer and electrical appliances, bathroom metal ware and other related industries. An estimated 40% of these data are serious buyers with identified purchasing needs. A large-scale invitation will be kicked off in February to invite senior management executives and sourcing managers to the show. Coupled with a high level of media publicity and coverage, it is expected that 2011 IMCS will draw an attendance of over 15,000 buyers from China and Southeast Asia. “HKDFA and GDFIA will make use of their resources and network in China and Southeast Asia to mobilize their members and partners to invite buyers from all over the world. We expect the show to draw huge crowd,” said Fred Tam, president of HKDFA.

2011 IMCS received support from many industry associations, institutes and government departments. As the local host, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Guangzhou Sub-council (CCPIT-GZ) will secure support from the government and suggest a series of strategic recommendations for future development. Moreover, apart from 20 local and overseas media partners; a total of 23 industry associations (8 local and 15 overseas) will support the show and share their resources. These associations include China Foundry Association, Guangdong Mechanical Engineering Society (Division of Die-casting and Division of Foundry), China Auto Parts & Accessories Corporation, Federation of Hong Kong Machinery and Metal Industries, Hong Kong (SME) Economic and Trade Promotional Association, Taiwan Casting Industry Association, Keikinzoku Tsushin AL Co., Ltd. and more. China, hottest destination for biomanufacturing investment in Asia

Friday, June 25th, 2010
China has become multinational biopharmas hottest destination for biomanufacturing investment in Asia

On 18-21st October, the heads of global technical operations and heads of manufacturing from major biopharmaceutical players are meeting in Shanghai at BioManufacturing World and Vaccine Manufacturing World conferences, hosted by IMAPAC.

This was driven by the recent trend of localized biologics and vaccine manufacturing into China, the hottest destination for biomanufacturing investment.

In 2009 alone, GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK) announced a new Joint Venture with Shenzhen Neptunus Interlong Bio-Technique Co. Ltd to develop and manufacture influenza vaccines,  GSK followed that with another Joint Venture with Walvax.  Microbix and Novartis followed the same trend; Microbix announcing a joint venture with Hunan biopharmaceutical and Novartis an 85% acquisition of Zhejiang Tianyuan Bio-pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

Investments in biosimilars manufacturing and China based CMOs are not exceptions. Cipla went into joint venture with Chinese firm Desano to form Biomab, and Beijing based biologics CMO Autek Bio raised $100M US from venture capitals earlier this year.

On top of all that, China’s ministry of health recently announced new GMP standards that are going to reshape the industry’s quality standards. Many companies in China are starting to upgrade their facilities to meet the new guidelines.

Over 150 biopharmaceutical manufacturers including international players including Roche, Novartis, Sanofi Pasteur, Glaxosmithkline, Pfizer, Biogen Idec, Biovac Institute, CSL Biopharma, as well as domestic industry leaders such as Sinovac, Hisun Pharmaceuticals, Biomab will present at the event.

Responding to the newest GMP changes, the event will also bring together experts from SFDA and NICPBP to address the most recent update of GMP guidelines and biological product quality control in China.

As many multinationals come to China to seek manufacturing partners or looking for best location to build their next manufacturing site, BIoManufacturing World will also showcase leading CMOs and Bioparks in China.

Featuring key speakers like Pat Yang, Head of Global Technical Operations of Roche Pharmaceuticals, Matthew Stober, Global head of Technical Operations of Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics, IMAPAC’s BioManufacturing World is where world biomanufacturing leaders gather to discuss best manufacturing strategies, share most cutting edge technologies and latest partnership models that will improve efficiency, product quality which will eventually drive delivery of high quality and affordable biopharmaceutical drugs for China.

Ensuring Efficient Delivery of Quality Mobile Services to End-Users at the Lowest Cost

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

23 September, Hong Kong Providing quality mobile services and ensuring profitability has become a challenge to a majority of mobile operators globally. With increasing demand for rich multimedia services, new challenges have been set for operators in the mobile landscape. A large number of these operators are veering towards new network optimization methods to overcome backhaul bottlenecks, increase coverage, capability and quality and prevent the degradation and/or disruption of next generation services.

With the downturn of the economy, telecom service providers today need to maintain their position in the market with the provision of best quality services at the most affordable rates. This is not an easy task to say the least as players are driven in part by the pressures of increased customer expectations and on the flip side, actively sourcing for better network solutions to ease the pressure.

In order to sustain this competitive edge, operators worth their salt will need to reflect on a gameplan that offers attractive tariff packages whilst meeting growing subscriber demand. In light of this, concentration on optimizing existing networks deems to be a viable option but the need to ensure that service delivery is kept to optimum quality with the lowest cost incurred is of paramount importance.

In view of the current scenario, Telecom Network Optimization Asia 2009 (TNOA 2009) is committed to the cause and will be gathering more than 20 Asian industry leaders to share case studies on best-of-class optimization methods and innovation.

Some of the key conference topics at TNOA 2009 include:

* Network cost optimization and managing increasing mobile traffic
* Examining Strategies To Successfully Optimize The 3G Network towards Higher Coverage, Capacity & Quality
* Upgrading the existing 3G/HSPA networks for mobile broadband
* Developing a strategy to enhance end-user mobile experience at reduced OPEX
* Benefiting Through The Managed Services Route
* Developing LTE ready mobile backhaul
* Understanding The Need To optimize The Network For The Introduction of Next generation Devices

TNOA 2009 is pleased to introduce our distinguished panel of speakers:

* Dr. David Mun Geon Kyeong, PMTS, Mobile Communications Research Division, ETRI, Korea
* Dr. Yang Wen-Hao, Acting Managing Director, Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan

Exhibitors Register for YASN’s 10th China International Auto Accessories Commercial Expo Enthusiastically

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

The 10th China International Auto Accessories Commercial Expo held by YASN International Exhibition Company Limited has received so enthusiastic response from relevant companies that the supply of exhibition booths falls short of demand to certain extent. To meet the demand of the exhibitors, actively rearranging the layout of this expo, the organizing committee is trying to increase the number of the exhibition booths and enlarge the exhibition space.

“Mr. Xie, I have always been a loyal customer of YASN; this time you have to get me a 72m2-large booth, please. “Mr. Xie, YASN should really establish some preferential rules for the loyal customers. When it comes to the exhibition booth, the loyal customers should have the priority to choose. Now we old customers don’t even have a booth in this expo. “Mr. Xie, I really haven’t expected that this year’s fight for the exhibition booths would be so intense. The year after next, you have to let me choose my booth in a dvance. Every day, Xie Yu, the general manager of YASN International Exhibition Company Limited, receives many calls like these—many managers of relevant companies have called to complain for the shortage of exhibition booths and ask for his help.

At the end of June, 2009, YASN’s project working team, which has gone to Zhengzhou for the promotion and register-canvassing of this expo, has achieved a great success—the enthusiasm of the exhibitors registering for this expo has soared to unprecedented heights. To ensure a booth in the 10th China International Auto Accessories Commercial Expo, hundreds of relevant companies all around China have been signing exhibition contracts enthusiastically. Since the number of applicants for expo booths has greatly exceeds the booth supply, to meet the demand of the exhibitors, the organizing committee has been trying to make more space for e xhibition while beginning to rearrange the expo layout and enlarge the exhibition space. During the three days of exhibitor-canvassing in Zhengzhou, contracts of 316 booths have been closed, which has exceeded our expectation for the first stage. According to the staff of YASN, “actually, exhibitor-canvassing is easy for us; when the enterprises hear that we are from YASN International, they directly ask us for the layout of the expo and sign contracts with us for the exhibition booths they like; this happens naturally for a mature expo with a well-known brand. Since CIAACE 2010 started exhibitor-canvassing in April, the working team has gone to Tianjin, Hebei, Zhejiang and other bases of auto accessories manufacturers for the promotion of this expo, and the relevant companies’ enthusiasm for exhibition booths has always been tremendous. At press time, 1400 exhibition booths have been booked. From this, we can see that, although the international auto industry is at a low tide, China’s auto accessory market stays strong; it also reflected the superior status of YASN Auto Accessories Expo in this market. With foresight, the 10th Auto Accessories Expo is leading China’s auto accessory market to the highway of specialization, industrialization and internationalization.

The most significant reason for the favors and trust received by the 10th China International Auto Accessories Commercial Expo is the “expo effects which has always been emphasized by YASN. According to statistics, the last expo has set the record volume of business transaction of 6.2342 billion yuan, which has gained this expo the first place in this industry. Now, the gathering of exhibitors and audience at CIAACE has become a professional need. CIAAC2010 will be held at National Agricultural Exhibition Center during 12 and 14, March, 2010. On the occasion, the whole industry will be presented .

Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals at the Food Tech & Innovation Summit

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

functional Foods header

Renaissance Shanghai Pudong, 2009/ 09/ 22 – 23

Venue Information

About 2500 years ago, Hippocrates said, ‘Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.’

The International Life Sciences Institute in Europe has adopted the following definition of functional foods: ‘If a food can be convincingly proven to have one or more functions of the body likely to benefit; there is sufficient nutrition effects to improve health or to reduce illness, such may be referred to as functional foods.’

Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals are designer foods and supplements with combined nutritional value and disease-prevention and medicinal benefits. These are usually natural products that can reduce or prevent chronic and acute diseases or promote good health. Estimates show that by 2013, the global functional food market is expected to reach at least US$90.5 billion. Factors driving this growth are the rising consumer interest in health and fitness as well as the trend toward disease prevention through balanced nutritional consumption.

Given the huge potential of the sector, the Functional Foods Summit scheduled from 22 – 23 September 2009 in Shanghai is designed as a platform for the latest trends and developments. The summit is an ideal venue to obtain relevant information on the functional foods industry through the various presentations from academic researchers and leading members in the industry.

This two-day conference will focus on the latest national and international food legislation and its implications for functional foods product development, regulatory development on health claims, and innovative ways of adding functional food ingredients to meet market demand and preference. The summit also tackles the current issues faced by food technologists and manufacturers, such as obesity and associated health problems, gut health, glycemic index and diet regimes. It will also provide participants and guests with the opportunity to meet key players in the industry.
