Record Attendance at IDTechEx Printed Electronics Europe

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

In the current recession, there are few sectors which are growing rapidly, but one of those is printed electronics. Pre-registered attendance at the IDTechEx Printed Electronics Europe conference, which will be held in Dresden, Germany, on April 7-8, is 20% higher than at the same time before the event last year. Over 700 attendees from 32 countries have registered so far, with a record 66 exhibitors.

Many world first exclusives will be announced, including a breakthrough in thin film memory printing from Thin Film Electronics and Inktec, new low cost copper inks and room temperature sintering from NovaCentrix, and the launch of inkjet printers and materials from Samsung Electromechanics, among others. Dirk Hilbert, the mayor of Dresden, will be opening the prestigious IDTechEx Printed Electronics Awards ceremony, held in a beautiful ballroom in Dresden.

Raghu Das, CEO of IDTechEx, says “We are delighted to bring together world leading end users from many different sectors, including consumer packaged goods, healthcare, automotive and transit, aerospace, advertising and games companies. Printed Electronics Europe passes 500 attendees and over 50 exhibitors so far!

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

With over one month to go until the famous IDTechEx Printed Electronics Europe event in Dresden, on April 7-8, attendance has achieved record levels, and is on track to bring together over 800 attendees, by far the world’s largest and most comprehensive event on the topic. Attendees from 26 countries have registered, from as far as Australia to Canada and India to Slovenia. The event has drawn the highest number of end-users yet, including household name companies such as BMW, Nestle, Unilever, Ravensberger and Nokia. This is indicative of the increasing interest of such companies to use printed electronics in their products.

Raghu Das, CEO of IDTechEx, the world’s leading analyst and event firm on printed electronics, says Despite the economic climate, growth has been remarkable. We have engaged with many consumer goods companies, who are largely recession proof, who are undertaking significant initiatives to use printed electronics in their products and enable better merchandising and new services for consumers. Those attending the event will join the largest gathering of users, suppliers, press and integrators this year. Das adds, Many presentations will be world first exclusives, and there will be new product demonstrations it is going to be a very exciting atmosphere.

The event covers the full range of technologies from organics to printed inorganics, and moves the topic forward by assessing the latest progress in stretchable electronics, flexible displays, printed energy harvesters and much more. In addition, IDTechEx has co-located its European Photovoltaics Beyond Conventional Silicon event, with speakers including Fiat and NASA, and covering all thin film photovoltaic technologies. With 54 confirmed exhibitors and over one month to go, IDTechEx expects over 70 exhibitors at the event. Many companies are exhibiting for the first time this year, such as Samsung, Plastic Logic and Muehlbauer. Coverage is global and of vital interest to industries as disparate as chemicals, consumer goods, healthcare, military, electronics and publishing.

Printed Electronics Europe is part of the global series of IDTechEx Printed Electronics events also held in the USA and Asia. See www.IDTechEx.com/peEurope for full details, and register early for the best rates.
