The Orlando Area Science Fiction Society is proud to present OASIS 21 the weekend of May 23-25, 2008 at the Sheraton Orlando Downtown (60 S. Ivanhoe Blvd)

Orlando, FL, April 20, 2008:OASIS is a traditional Science Fiction convention. There will be an Art Show, Con (Hospitality) Suite,
Dealers Room, Filking (Science Fiction and Fantasy based folk singing), Cthulhu Friday Night Chili Cook- off, Costume Contest, Panels, Readings, Signings, Trivia Contest, Video Room, and general fan fun. Our Guests of Honor includes:

DAVID GERROLD His first sale was one of the best known Star Trek episodes, The Trouble with Tribbles. He created Land of the Lost for Sid and Marty Kroft and his story The Martian Child was recently made into a major motion picture.

JOHN SCALZI won the John W. Campbell Award for best new Science Fiction writer in 2006. His novels include Old Man’s War, The Ghost Brigades and the just published The Last Colony. His blog Whatever is a noted source of information on the Science Fiction field. The convention raises money for the Andre Norton Scholarship Fund. Andre Norton was one of the first female science fiction writers and a longtime resident of Florida. Each year a deserving student from Valenica Community College gets a grant from the fund.

There will gaming run by Florida Roleplayer’s Association of Gamers ( A single day pass to the event is $14 Fri,$18 Sat and $12 Sun with weekend memberships going for $35. Before April 30, the price is $30 for the weekend.
