The Virtual Team - Creating High Performing Teams in the Virtual Workplace - Webinar By Trainhr
Feb 22, 2012 - Feb 22, 2012,
online Training Webinars 1000 N West Street | Suite 1200 Delaware United States 19801

Overview : In this 60 minute webinar, Tamara shares her experience as a Virtual Manager of High Performing Teams inside of Fortune 500 organizations.

Every organization should be prepared work in a virtual workplace and it is imperative to train the high performing teams to be successful in the Virtual Workplace. "In your current work environment, even if you have team members are generally co-located; there will be opportunities wherein team members are working remotely. This could be the need to work from home or in a customer’s location. The team's ability to perform optimally should not be compromised because team members are not sharing a physical space.”

Why you should attend: Managers need to remain relevant by upgrading their skills to incorporate the process and technology necessary for creating effective virtual teams.

Managing a virtual team is fast becoming more the rule than the exception in organizations. These teams may be distributed across town, across the globe, the team may travel or they may work in a common office space but communicate via e-mail to their co-workers across the hall. The workplace is changing and as effective managers, we must also change and recognize that "work is something that we do and not a place that we go."

Areas Covered in the Session: The agenda topics for this webinar include great information as well as a road map for success.
  • Identify the Organizational Culture and Leadership required for High Performing Virtual Teams
  • Necessary Skills for Successful Virtual Team Leadership

Practical Proofreading
Feb 22, 2012 - Feb 22, 2012,
Capital Hill Hotel & Suites, Ottawa, Ontario Canada

You can't afford embarrassing errors in your documents, and you know that a computer spell check isn't sufficient. What's more, production time is short. But you can develop strong proofreading skills to help you through any publication project. This seminar demonstrates tactics for efficiently and effectively catching and eliminating errors (both textual and visual) on screen, on paper, or in web documents—with or without a previous version for comparison.

Learn to estimate how much time is needed for proofreading, to concentrate as you work, and to keep track of versions of a document. Discover where errors are likely to lurk. Find out the top 10 things to check before going to print. We'll also discuss how to handle bilingual documents and mark up PDFs on-screen. In this learn-by-doing seminar, you'll get hands-on experience proofreading a variety of materials, including complex designs and non-text material such as tables and figures.

The 2nd Annual National Leadership Psychology Conference 2012
Feb 22, 2012 - Feb 23, 2012,
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Melbourne, Victoria Australia

Applying the Tools of Evidence-Based Leadership Development and Psychology to Develop Resilient Leaders that Positively Influence Culture and Organisational Effectiveness

Liquid Learning is delighted to present The 2nd Annual National Leadership Psychology Conference 2012. Following the success of 2011, this upcoming event will provide deeper practical insights from leading practitioners and experts to ensure that delegates are well equipped with evidence-based principles to design leadership initiatives suited to the current business environment.

New problems require new thinking to solve them. While leadership continues to be a vital element in achieving successful outcomes within all organisations, to sustain ongoing performance the approach to developing leaders needs to evolve to address a new set of challenges. In an uncertain, dynamic and often volatile business environment, the key differentiating factor for high performing organisations is that they have developed resilient leadership capability. To begin this process, learning and leadership development practitioners need to be very discerning about the tools they are using. The first question that should be considered is: Forget about the hype, what does the evidence tell us?

Leadership is about the mind. It is a relationship, a human interaction, and involves a social exchange, so we must look to psychology in order to truly understand and answer many of the complex processes at play. Through this lens we are able to make informed, evidence-based decisions about how to best approach the development process with leaders and their teams. A key benefit of an evidence-based approach, is that you have a basis for measurement, planned outcomes and demonstrating the impact of interventions – a key priority in an environment of heightened fiscal discipline around learning and development expenditure.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identifying the Psychological Traits of Successful and Resilient Leaders
  • Applying Evidence Based Tools to Identify and Develop Resilient Leaders
  • Practical Tools to Improve the Neurological Performance and Social Competence of Leaders
  • Establishing an Evidence Base and Measuring the Impact of Interventions

This conference will bring together a range of leadership, learning, people and organisation development practitioners and experts to engage in a lively conversation about their emerging thinking about leadership and how to go about nurturing it. Participants will leave this interactive conference inspired, excited and more knowledgeable about how to address complex leadership challenges through applying pragmatic solutions.
