- Public & Third Sector Intranets
-
Mar 17, 2010 - Mar 18, 2010,
London United KingdomGiven the economic challenges and pressures on public spending, it is now apparent that the government will need to increase efficiency measures significantly as well as make increasing cuts. A well-designed and utilised intranet can help the public and third sector to cut costs and streamline everyday processes. It can also strengthen internal communications, provide an environment for collaboration and facilitate knowledge sharing. But to achieve this, your intranet needs to be an evolving resource that’s easy to use, current, and matches your organisation’s needs. Therefore, it is essential that you establish best practice when developing your intranet to ensure it remains sustainable, user-friendly and relevant in the long-term.
Ark Group’s fifth annual Public & Third Sector Intranets event will equip you with the skills to improve the functionality of your intranet and advance staff communication via your intranet, both of which will vastly improve the efficiency of your everyday processes, ultimately driving down costs.
Featuring real-life case studies, in-depth presentations and four “LIVE” intensive intranet demonstrations from Manchester City Council, The NHS Confederation, Save the Children UK and East London NHS Foundation Trust, this two-day, highly interactive event will enable you to share best practice, benchmark your progress and direct your questions to those directly involved in intranet development, implementation and use. Further highlights include:
Transport for London: Aligning your intranet with the needs of the organisation
Southwark Council: Integrating social media into your intranet
FutureGov: How might public sector organisations use the intranet differently in the future?
The City of Edinburgh Council: Intranet governance - managing devolved content ownership and intranet champions
If you can only go to one intranet event this year, this is the one to attend!
A two-day event designed to help you:
Align your intranet with your organisation’s needs
Optimise intranet navigation and search
Manage devolved content ownership
Integrate social media into your intranet
Measure and demonstrate intranet value
Assess future intranet developments - full details

- 3rd Annual Best Practice in Clinical Site Selection & Performance Management
-
Mar 17, 2010 - Mar 18, 2010,
Brussels BelgiumWhat constitutes best practice when planning and running your clinical studies at the individual clinical site? Why do so many sites underperform in relation to the original feasibility? From ensuring that the trial is: thoroughly planned, with clear recruitment goals; incorporates early site input; with a detailed but not cumbersome protocol and feasibility questionnaire; pre-agreed metrics and qualitative measures; motivated and willing investigators; a clear and well written site agreement; and resulting high quality data and met recruitment timelines all combine to be, what should be, the best practice. Last year's event focused heavily on site relationships whereas this year's event is bringing trial planning, site metrics as decision making tools & defining patient recruitment under greater scrutiny as key challenges to ensuring the performance of individual sites, thus improving the overall clinical trial’s performance.

- Webinar: Evaluating Clinical Sites: going beyond regulatory requirements to ensure success
-
Mar 17, 2010 - Mar 17, 2010,
United KingdomThis Evaluating Clinical Sites training will review the process of Site Selection focusing on current challenges to obtain valuable information that will better predict the success of a clinical site.
Why Should You Attend:
According to current ICH-GCP guidelines, the Sponsor is responsible for selecting the investigators, who need to be qualified by training and experience and should have adequate resources to properly conduct the study. While Pharma and CRO companies have standard procedures for ensuring compliance with these regulatory requirements, through feasibility assessments, selection and initiation visits, these processes have proven to be insufficient to ensure a good performance level. Statistics on site performance show figures that are far from being even slightly satisfactory, which has high impact as causes delay of the Clinical Development timelines and increase in the use of resources.
This session will focus on reviewing several practices during the site selection and initiation processes that aim to obtain objective information that better support the selection decision, the start-up and subsequent performance of a clinical site.
Areas Covered in the Seminar:
Overview of the Site Selection and Initiation Processes.
Statistics on Site Perfomance.
Possible causes of poor Site performance.
Possible enhancements to the Feasibility process.
Possible enhancement to the Site Initiation process.
Tracking Site Performance Measures. - full details

- Webinar: Process Validation for Drugs and Biologics
-
Mar 17, 2010 - Mar 17, 2010,
1000 N West Street Suite Wilmington, Delaware United States 19801Many papers have been written about this subject. Unfortunately, most of these publications are overly complex and serve to confuse more than to be helpful. As one of the few people who were there at the inception of the validation requirement and who served on a Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association validation advisory committee, this speaker has not only validated processes around the world, but was there when the validation concepts were developed and methodologies were negotiated with FDA. In this webinar, you will learn not only how to validate a manufacturing process, but how to do so in a reasonable period of time.

- Webinar: PCI Data Breaches: What happened? What may have prevented it? What if it happens to you?
-
Mar 17, 2010 - Mar 17, 2010,
1000 N West Street Suite Wilmington, Delaware United States 19801In this webinar you will learn about the current threat environment, how some of the biggest data breaches of recent years could have been prevented, how to reduce your risk of a breach and what to do if the unthinkable happens.
Compliance with the PCI DSS is expensive, no argument there. Many organizations like to play the "insurance" game by betting they can save the cost of compliance if they never get caught. But are the risks really worth it? Costs such as reputation damage and loss of customers are not so easily quantified as fines and penalties.
Why should you attend:
Think a breach of cardholder data would never happen to you? Think again. Responses to a recent Ponemon study indicate 79% of companies surveyed have experienced a breach. Many organizations believe there are too small to be breached. Criminals go after what's easy, not necessarily what's lucrative. So while you may not make the national headlines if your data is breached, responding to the breach could jeopardize the health of your business. Learn about breaches at other companies, how they could have been prevented and what to do if the unspeakable happens to you. - full details
