The Indian healthcare industry is booming and it has emerged as one of the largest service sectors in India. It is growing further with a fast pace with more rise in the healthcare spending. Healthcare spending in India is predicted to rise by 12% per annum. An estimate suggests that by 2012 healthcare spending may contribute 8% of GDP and provides employment to over 9 million people. Rising incomes and growing literacy are likely to drive higher per capita expenditure on healthcare. The increase in healthcare spending has paved the ways for the demand of better health care and emergency medical services. The new generation is looking forward to get the best of medical and emergency services. In a country like India, where life quotient is very low and the probabilities of accidents and emergencies are high, complete new and rapid medical emergency services are highly demanded. In western countries, the era of air ambulances and highly equipped emergency medical transport has come long ago. In our country as well these services are not very far away.
