LUCID (Life Underwriters, Claims Consultants and Insurance Doctors) Conference
Apr 26, 2009 - Apr 29, 2009,
Holiday Inn Hotel Stratford upon Avon, England, United Kingdom

This is a novel venture which is a collaboration of the Assurance Medical Society, the Association of Medical Underwriters, Select 74 and the Health Claims Forum. The aim is to have an interdisciplinary meeting over two and a half days where life and health underwriters, claims consultants and doctors interested in insurance medicine can get together to hear about and discuss new developments of relevance to their work within the life and health insurance industry. To our knowledge a partnership event such as this has never been organised before in the UK and we are hoping that it will also be of interest to actuaries and those involved in product development and marketing as well as those based outside the UK, particularly in Europe. We expect that the majority of delegates will be underwriters and claims consultants from the UK, Ireland and Europe.

The organising committee consisting of representatives from each of the 4 groups is meeting regularly and the committee is proceeding with the challenging task of selecting topics and speakers. We are pleased to have Hampton Medical Conferences as our conference organiser and with their assistance we aim to make this a resounding success. The meeting format will be based around a mix of Plenary sessions and workshop sessions with the conference itself starting on the Monday morning and ending on Wednesday lunch time.
