Shutdowns and Turnarounds Masterclass
Apr 5, 2009 - Apr 6, 2009,
Muscat, Oman

To some owners of industrial plants, commercial facilities and manufacturing processes, carrying out scheduled maintenance work is inevitable, an activity designed to increase its level of production. Thus, it is agreeable that maintenance of their equipment assets is a reality. However, although most inspection, repair, replacement, alteration, and minor maintenance work can be done while the plant is in operation, there comes a time when a plant has to undergo a scheduled process outage for major maintenance work, referred to as a “plant shutdown”.

The management of a plant shutdown is known as the “plant turnaround”. The plant turnaround is a continuous process, overlapping from a major scheduled maintenance to the next. As such, the turnaround manager’s responsibilities overlap from one framework to the next framework. This framework recognises that the plant turnaround procedure has four elementary phases: Planning, Scheduling, Execution and Closing and are equally important in maximising work performed under the given duration, while embracing the highest quality of work.

This unique masterclass, led by an internationally renowned training expert, will explore the fundamental skills needed by every Shutdowns and Turnarounds planner, focusing on revolutionary Planning and Scheduling techniques. Participants would also be at the forefront of conceptualising proper Execution and Closing methods, designed to bring your upcoming shutdown to the next level. Practical exercises, workshops and case studies from different refineries are also conducted to equip participants with additional knowledge and tools, ever ready to be included into your own shutdown activities.
