- Capabilities Based Requirements & Architectural Frameworks:Washington DC: Feb 2009
-
Feb 19, 2009 - Feb 20, 2009,
Washington, Distr. Columbia United StatesThe DoD has mandated the use of the “Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System” (JCIDS) and the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) on all future acquisitions. JCIDS and DoDAF are the critical benchmarks that will guide the development and production of all acquisition programs. JCIDS fosters a capabilities-based approach to acquisition that targets interoperability at the earliest stages of program development by identifying, assessing, and prioritizing joint military capability needs. DoDAF is the architectural “MIL-STD” for future acquisitions, from Investment Strategies to Systems Design. All ongoing and future contracted architectures, systems and technologies must comply with these requirements.
This seminar guides you through these new processes and reforms that are transforming the way the DoD operates. Attendees will receive step-by-step compliance guidelines for ensuring their technologies, systems and architectures meet the technical and architectural requirements imposed by the DoD. - full details
- Information Assurance: Latest Requirements and Methods - Washington
-
Feb 19, 2009 - Feb 20, 2009,
Washington, Distr. Columbia United StatesCovertly and overtly, government and private networks are under attack every hour of every day. This continuous assault on the nation's information networks illustrates the need for effective Information Assurance (IA). An attacker needs only one vulnerability to successfully penetrate a system; a defender requires a 100% comprehensive solution. The DoD has made Information Assurance a major element of the JCIDS process and replaced the venerable DITSCAP with the Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP). Are you developing secure products in compliance with DoD’s latest IA requirements? The best Information Assurance requires a systematic, technical, holistic, architectural approach, and this seminar will demonstrate how such an approach to IA can ensure success.
This seminar provides you with the latest tools and techniques for designing and implementing IA Architectures. You will receive the leading-edge techniques for developing and implementing Security Architectures and securing systems, networks and platforms. Additionally, you will receive the latest information on DoD?s IA policy and an update on the Defense-wide
Information Assurance Program (DIAP), as well as the latest technology trends in IA. - full details

- Risk and Liquidity Management in Baking Sector of Ukraine
-
Feb 19, 2009 - Feb 20, 2009,
UkraineCompetition continues to increase and, as a recent wave of major acquisitions suggests, foreign capital has a particular interest in entering this sector. The goal of this conference is to present a concise view of what banking in Ukraine is about, how it managed to reach its present state as well as to lay down a stepping stone to understanding the near-term future of this imperative for the country's economy.
Having suggested the immaculate growth of Ukrainian banking sector, the significant financial analysis should be implied. As any business has its’ life circle, it is vital to examine and forecast the industry drivers that move banking sector to the next stage. With foreign capital becoming the major player on the banking market of Ukraine, certain parts of the market, including regulations, become more sensitive to the FDI inflow than others. As a consequence, Ukraine becomes more and more vulnerable to global risks. At this stage the ability to relate high tempo of banking sector growth with fluctuations on the global markets –is the key to building “safe” model for Ukrainian banking sector expansion.
Strategic location of Ukraine suggests high interests from both Russia and West. This would be exposed to the banking sector in the mere future and global attention will focus on the battle of two most influential financial powers.
Finally, coming to a new market means meeting businesses that have been all the way through the espousal process. Customer culture, client care nuances and knowing your competition- is the safety net for throwing business into the new heights. - full details

- Programme Management: An Approach for Managing Strategic and Complex Projects (Singapore)
-
Feb 19, 2009 - Feb 20, 2009,
Singapore SingaporeExperienced professional Terry Deacon says that project managers are akin to orchestra conductors: "They conduct an entire team, ensuring certain parts of the team come in at the right time and on the right note." Complex project management is much like guiding an orchestra through an intricate piece of music. One can acquire the most skilled musicians together in one orchestra – put one unskilled conductor in charge and you will still witness a fiasco. A project that lacks guidance, correct information and relevant skills is bound for failure from the start. Capable project managers can keep the objectives in focus and complete projects on time while effectively managing all resources.

- Fraud prevention and anti-money laundering
-
Feb 19, 2009 - Feb 20, 2009,
Johanessburg, Gauteng South AfricaCommercial crime is growing faster and frauds are more complex and involve larger sums than ever before. The white collar crimes of fraud, corruption and money laundering in both the private and public sectors are costing South Africa billions of Rand a year. There is also growing public outrage over corrupt officials and opportunistic fraudsters who appear to be “getting away with it”."
The investigation of commercial crimes such as fraud, corruption and money laundering requires specialised forensic legal skills and an understanding of the criminal justice system. There is an increasing body of law focused on dealing with the problem of economic crime and more recently the establishment of a Commercial Crimes Unit and Court, which focus on the investigation and prosecution of such crimes, with branches in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban.
There is no denying that auditors and accountants have absorbed a large share of the forensics market. However, there are investigations that in addition to investigative skills, require significant specialised legal knowledge, to commence understanding the issue. Furthermore, research shows that financial statement fraud constitutes a very small percentage of all frauds committed. Skilled forensic investigations is a product of both a detailed knowledge of the industry and the legislative framework in which the investigation must take place, as well as focused efficient information gathering techniques. - full details
