In this meeting, we hope to explore the way people respond to terror in diverse settings, and to explore some of the interfaces between basic science, clinical practice and social policy.

The theme will not restrict the conference to terrorism and terrorist violence. Terrifying experiences may also include (for example) sexual and physical abuse within families, the terrorisation of one local community by another, organised repressive violence and torture by states and national groups. We intend to interpret this theme broadly.

Design and Test Challenges for 3D ICs
Nov 13, 2008 - Nov 13, 2008,
DoubleTree Hotel San Jose , San Jose, California United States

3D ICs—stacking layers of silicon with through-silicon vias—is a key initiative in sustaining Moore’s law and enabling More than Moore for the computer and IC industry. The potential benefits are increase in systems performance, lower power consumption, integration of heterogeneous devices, more compact form factor, cost reduction and improved electrical characteristics. Applications vary from those requiring a low density of through-silicon vias (TSVs), such as stacking of flash or DRAM die, to those requiring a much higher density, such as single- or multi-core processors with memory, ASICs, gate arrays, and digital/analog/rf/mems.

Successful implementation of this technology will require design authoring tools that comprehend 3D stacking technology, as well as “pathfinding” or “design tradeoff and exploration” tools for physical planning and early performance estimates. Partition-able test strategies must be developed to cost effectively test single die and the 3D die stack
