4th International Congress on the History of Urology
Nov 7, 2008 - Nov 9, 2008,
AUA Headquarters Linthicum, Maryland United States

The 4th International Congress on the History of Urology is presented in conjunction with the European Association of Urology and the American Urological Association. Collaborators include the Sexual Medicine and Endourological Societies in the United States.

The aim of the Congress is to familiarize young urologists with the lessons that history can teach as we look forward to enhance our craft. There is a significant lack of knowledge, particularly among younger urologists, of the development of medical procedures and the pitfalls encountered in the past. We also, on a global scale, have little if any knowledge of significant advances contributed by urologists in other countries. These gaps should be bridged by an international effort to share pertinent information on the history of medicine and urology in particular.
