ACM/IEEE 11th International Conference on Model Driven Engineering Languages and Systems (MODEL'S 2008)
Sep 28, 2008 - Oct 3, 2008,
Centre de Congres Pierre Baudis, Toulouse, Midi Pyrenees France

The MoDELS series of conferences are devoted to the topic of model-driven engineering, covering both languages and systems used to create complex systems. These conferences are both an expansion and a re-direction of previous Unified Modeling Language (UML) conferences, and replaced that series of conference since 2005.

Model-driven system development has long been used in the development of complex hardware systems. It is becoming more prevalent in complex software or combined hardware and software systems development as methodologies and tools become available that can manipulate software models from very abstract concepts through refinement and testing. The MoDELS series of conferences is the premier venue for the exchange of innovative technical ideas and experiences relating to model-driven approaches in the development of software-based systems.

JAOO Aarhus Conference 2008
Sep 28, 2008 - Oct 3, 2008,
Musichuset, Scandinavian Congress Center, Aarhus, Denmark

Since 1996, Trifork has organized JAOO - a conference for software developers, architects and project managers. JAOO is an annual event in Aarhus, Denmark which attracts more than 1000 participants.

Trifork has gone global with conferences in UK, US and Australia keeping the independency of large companies and using the international network of speakers, researchers and trendsetters in the IT industry.

The idea to do JAOO came about when the managers at Trifork were dissatisfied with existing conferences and at the same time wanted to create a forum where we could mingle with the "rock stars" of software development.

JAOO originally stood for "Java and Object-Oriented" and was originally focused on Java-based technologies. Today it has evolved into a more in-depth conference with a wider set of content such as .NET and Ruby-based technologies along with a focus on the softer side of software development: process improvement, patterns, and enterprise architecture.

Mesophyll Conductance To Co2: Mechanisms, Modeling And Ecological Implications
Sep 28, 2008 - Sep 30, 2008,
Palma De Mallorca Spain

It has been recently recognized that restricted and variable conductance of the leaf mesophyll to CO2 (gm) is one of the main factors limiting photosynthesis in higher plants, of similar importance to that of stomatal conductance or nitrogen economy. This leads to the needs of understanding the physiological bases for gm regulation, evaluating its ecological implications and examining how it affects model estimations of plant productivity and response to climate change. The aim of the workshop would be to review the present knowledge on gm, and to promote the discussion among specialists from the molecular to the ecological and modeling sides, to establish the current state–of–the–art on this topic and define research priorities for the near future.

2008 International Symposium on Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography
Sep 28, 2008 - Oct 1, 2008,
Resort at Squaw Creek, Lake Tahoe, California United States

The 2008 EUVL Symposium is the key industry forum for industry experts and researchers to discuss and assess the continued progress and maturity of extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUVL) technology and the infrastructure needed to support its insertion into production.

EUVL is now well into the alpha tool demonstration phase, in which critical elements of the technology and infrastructure are--for the first time--being evaluated at the system level. Yet, at the same time the industry still faces a significant number of challenges to prepare for the arrival of EUV beta and pilot production tools in the next few years. These challenges include progress in key critical technology issues such as:

* Demonstration of reliable high-power source and collector modules
* Simultaneously meeting resist resolution, sensitivity and line edge roughness specifications
* Fabricating defect-free masks

The Symposium provides a forum for the worldwide EUVL technology community to gather, present, and discuss new developments, issues, and solutions for the advancement of extreme ultraviolet lithography into cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.

8th IEEE International Working Conference on Source Code Analysis and Manipulation (SCAM 2008)
Sep 28, 2008 - Sep 29, 2008,
Beijing Friendship Hotel, Beijing, Beijing (munic.) China

The aim of this working conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners working on theory, techniques and applications which concern analysis and/or manipulation of the source code of computer systems. While much attention in the wider software engineering community is properly directed towards other aspects of systems development and evolution, such as specification, design and requirements engineering, it is the source code that contains the only precise description of the behaviour of the system. The analysis and manipulation of source code thus remains a pressing concern.
