AE2008 is the second of the "new format‟ Aquaculture Europe events, that combines a scientific conference with a trade exhibition. The theme of AE2008, Resource Management, addresses the natural, human and material resources for the sustainable development of aquaculture. The Water Framework Directive (2000/60/E) is the most substantial piece of water legislation ever produced by the European Commission. It requires that all inland and coastal waters within defined river basin districts must reach at least good status by 2015 and defines how this should be achieved through the establishment of environmental objectives and ecological targets for surface waters. This will be just one focus of AE2008.

International Conference on Water and Urban Development Paradigm

This international conference intends to bridge the gap between the disciplines of water management, ecology and the approaches of engineering, urban design and spatial planning. Sessions will develop a series of themes, discussing the historical relationship between water systems and human settlements, and related management problems regarding urban floods, water use and water sanitation. In each session, presentations are invited on problem definition, technical and design-based solutions, but also on boundary conditions of exogenous, political or economical nature. It is hoped that this interdisciplinary information exchange and communication will lead to discussion and will contribute to a better integration of approaches currently considered in the separate disciplines of water management, water engineering, spatial urban planning and design and aquatic ecology. Also aspects of meteorological, demographic, political, economical, and educational and life-style related nature will be considered in the analysis of solutions to current and emerging urban water problems. It is the 23rd international conference in a series of annual courses and biennial conferences on structural dynamics, modal analysis and noise and vibration engineering, organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.

The conference provides a forum for engineers, researchers and other professionals active in the field of modelling, analysing, testing and improving the noise and vibration characteristics of mechanical systems and civil structures. The conference combines expertise in the noise and vibration fields by stressing common measurement, modelling, analysis and control technologies. The meeting will provide a further impetus to the cross fertilisation of ideas in both areas

The conference program will include keynote lectures, tutorials and invited and contributed papers in specialised areas of noise and vibration engineering and structural dynamics.
The focus of the conference is on experimental and numerical methods, with special attention to recent applications in vehicle and civil engineering. Fields with a strong interaction between noise and vibration behaviour will be stressed.
Modal analysis and structural dynamic testing remains one of the backbones of the conference, and herein we would like to emphasize limiting factors such as product and test variability as well as applications in the field of structural integrity and damage assessment.

Although fixed and mobile number portability has been fully implemented in most Western European countries for some time, by contrast a number of Eastern European countries, parts of the Middle East, Asia, South America and Africa are currently in the process of planning or implementation.
