4th Annual Strategic Corporate Communication
Aug 20, 2008 - Aug 22, 2008,
Melbourne, Victoria Australia

Corporate Communicators are increasingly facing the challenge of successfully conveying organisational objectives and initiatives to an ever expanding and progressively more aware audience.

The rise and popularity of social media, the desire for organisations to remain honest and transparent with both internal and external stakeholders, and the need to ensure your message doesn’t get lost in the crowd are all issues that require careful consideration in the refinement of your current communication strategy or the crafting of a new initiative that takes advantage of your strengths and nullifies the negatives.

New tactics and approaches need to be explored and adapted in order to create a cohesive and integrated strategy that not only promotes the business, but is also an integral part of long term strategic objectives across the business. To achieve success, communicators also have to work far more closely with senior and middle management, consumers and the media in a dynamic yet sustainable manner.

This two-day conference will identify and explore solutions to the challenges that face corporate communication professionals and suggest how to:

* Develop a cohesive and fully integrated strategy the meets the requirements of your organisation
* Define media strategies that position your company in the best possible light
* Achieve successful resolution of the issues that affect the way your organisation is perceived
* Create opportunities that allow for successful future growth of your ideas and initiatives

International Symposium on Integrative Bioinformatics
Aug 20, 2008 - Aug 22, 2008,
Leucorea, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Sachsen Anhalt Germany

Biological data are scattered across thousands of biological databases and hundreds of scientific journals. Current high throughput genomics technologies generate large quantities of high dimensional data. Microarray, NMR, mass spectrometry, protein chips, gel electrophoresis data, Yeast-Two-Hybrid, QTL mapping, gene silencing, and knockout experiments are all examples of technologies that capture thousands of data points, often in single experiments. The challenge for Integrative Bioinformatics is to capture, model, integrate, and analyse these data in a consistent way to provide new and deeper insights into complex biological systems.
This fifth meeting on Integrative Bioinformatics will be of interest to Bioinformaticians, Computer Scientists and others working in, or interested in finding out more about, the developing area of integrative bioinformatics. There will be opportunities to present and discuss methods, theoretical approaches, and their practical applications.

Topics of interest

• Database integration
• Combined dry and wetlab studies
• Molecular databases / Data warehouses
• Errors and inconsistencies in biological databases
• Prediction and integration of metabolic and regulatory networks
• Genotype–phenotype linkage
• Protein-protein interactions
• Integrative microarray modeling and analyses
• Integrative approaches for drug design
• Computational infrastructure for biotechnology
