4th World Congress on Software Quality
Aug 15, 2008 - Aug 19, 2008,
Washington, Distr. Columbia United States

After the huge success of the 3rd World Congress for Software Quality, the hosting organizations, American Society for Quality (ASQ), Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) and the European Organization for Quality (EOQ) have decided to organize the next event of this series, in Washingtion D.C., already in 2008. Before, the conferences followed a five year turn. After San Francisco in 1995, Yokohama in 2000 and Munich in September of this year, the Congress will be returning to the continent of its origin. The idea to follow a three year instead of a five year turn was first brought up by iSQI general manager and EOQ-SG General Secretary, Stephan Goericke, who argued that a five year turn would be too long to catch up on the progress and experiences made with technologies and processes that were subject to discussion at the preceding congress.
At the organizing committee meeting, Goericke gave an account of his experience with organizing this event, pointed out the opportunities it opened up and offered iSQI's full support to helping the American local organizing committee.
