7th International Conference on Head and Neck Cancer
Jul 19, 2008 - Jul 23, 2008,
San Francisco Marriott, San Francisco, California United States

The International Conference on Head and Neck Cancer has been the world's pre-eminent meeting for head and neck cancer since its inception in 1984. We will draw approximately 1,500 surgeons, oncologists, scientists and allied health professionals over 4.5 days for what promises to be our best meeting to date.
The scientific program has been carefully designed to incorporate a broad spectrum of topics to reflect the conference theme of Multidisciplinary Care in H&N Cancer. Every effort has been made to ensure a productive mix of cutting edge science and the most exciting clinical frontiers of treatment. The program includes keynote lectures, proffered papers and open dialogue formats (lunch with the professor and instruction courses, panels and posters).

A major goal of the conference is to foster stronger scientific relationships among professional disciplines related to head and neck cancer and for the first time the conference will feature specialized tracks for participants from ASCO (Medical Oncology) and ASTRO (Radiation Oncology) and ASHNR (H&N Radiology).

Social events in one of the most renowned multicultural cities in the world will include an International Reception and the AHNS Presidents Reception. There will be a lounge for spouses as well as an internet café.

With the assistance of our corporate partners we expect this program will provide an outstanding educational experience and significantly enhance international understanding and collaboration.

Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego San Diego, California United States

The 22nd Annual Symposium of The Protein Society will be held July 19-23, 2008 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego in San Diego, California. It will feature an outstanding scientific program that is being organized by the co-chairs, Douglas Barrick (The Johns Hopkins University) and Leemor Joshua-Tor (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory). The academic liaison is José Onuchic (University of California, San Diego).

The meeting theme is Proteins: Machines of Life. The scientific program will include more than 50 invited speakers and 14 scientific sessions. Two Plenary Sessions will be featured on the topics of “Nucleic Acid Motors” and “Protein Motors.” Jane Richardson (Duke University) will be the featured speaker at the Awards Banquet of the 22nd Annual Symposium of The Protein Society. The 2008 Society Awards will be presented in Awards Plenary Sessions, and awardees will present plenary lectures. Sessions will address molecular mechanisms of protein folding, design, and dynamics from simple globular proteins to molecular machines, focusing in part on recent structural advances in nucleic acid and protein motors. The symposium will also feature sessions on complex multiprotein systems, including advances in structure determination, proteomics, and systems biology.
