Jul 14, 2008 - Jul 16, 2008,
Tate Britain, London, England United KingdomPleasure gardens have been linked to a nascent public sphere, an urban renaissance and the commodification of culture in Georgian Britain. Verifying such claims, however, requires knowledge of pleasure gardens outside London, and a willingness to engage historians, art historians, musicologists, literary scholars and cultural geographers. Come join the conversation. Proposals for papers considering Victorian and non-British pleasure gardens are particularly welcome.

- 2nd International Conference on Applied Ergonomics
-
Jul 14, 2008 - Jul 17, 2008,
Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Nevada United StatesThe conference objective is to provide an international forum for the dissemination and exchange of scientific information on theoretical, generic, and applied areas of ergonomics, including , physical ergonomics, cognetive ergonomics, social and organizational ergonomics, ergonomics modeling and usability evaluation, healthcare and special populations, safety and ergonomics in manufacturing. This will be accomplished through the following six modes of communication: keynote presentation, parallel sessions, demonstration and poster sessions, tutorials, exhibitions and meetings of special interest groups.
The four-day conference will start with tutorials. The tutorials will be held on July 14, 2008. Tutorials will be offered (both half-day and full-day) at introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels covering the entire spectrum of the conference. All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed by three independent referees from the international program boards. It is anticipated that a broad range of research and applied topics will be covered during the conference. Papers in the theoretical category should deal with models, concepts, and structures; papers in the generic category should present research results of broad applicability; and in the applied category should show how the demands of particular application areas shape the way generic research is translated into practical innovation. - full details

- BPR 2008 - 1st International Workshop on Bit Precise Reasoning
-
Jul 14, 2008 - Jul 14, 2008,
Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey United StatesBit-Precise Reasoning is increasingly being used for the analysis of many real world hardware and software systems. Current applications include microcode validation, word-level model checking, software verification, equivalence checking and random testcase generation. The continued success in these and other applications depends on the development of more efficient decision procedures for bit-precise reasoning, their combination with decision procedures for other theories (e.g. the theory of arrays), as well as domain-specific techniques to further increase the scalability of the analysis.
The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers in Bit-Precise Reasoning with industrial users. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Case studies and applications
* New decision procedures and novel implementation techniques
* Combination with other theories
* Theoretical results
* Benchmarks and evaluation methodologies - full details

- International Conference on Communications in Computing (CIC 2008)
-
Jul 14, 2008 - Jul 17, 2008,
Monte Carlo Resort Las Vegas, Nevada United StatesThe International Conference on Communications in Computing (CIC) focuses on the communication requirements directly induced or required by computing systems. An essential element of modern day distributed and high performance computing systems is the trade-off in the amount of computation versus the amount of communication performed. Certain applications are inherently communication-intensive. In others, communication steps may be replaceable with local computations and vice versa. At the same time, systems resources may support large communication requirements. In other systems, physical or power constraints may limit the communication support. This conference provides a venue for scholarly publication that explores issues relating to the combined effects of communications and computations in the context of modern computing systems.

-
Jul 14, 2008 - Jul 17, 2008,
Monte Carlo Resort Las Vegas, Nevada United StatesThe world is changing. The advances in microelectronics are changing the technology. One die can contain several billion transistors. This makes it possible, if not inevitable, to map into one die several processor cores. Also, the microelectronics market is changing. There is estimation that in the near future, in 2010, about 90% of applications are embedded systems, most of these are mobile, wireless consumer appliances that must be small in size, with very low power consumption and with high performance.
The international conference on Engineering of Reconfigurable Systems and Algorithms (ERSA) was founded in 2001 and, since then, has been held each year in Las Vegas. - full details

It does offer practical advice and technology options for establishing jatropha farms in a variety of climates (humid, sub humid and semi-arid).
Establishment of Jatropha farms requires both technical and managerial solutions to problems encountered in the field. Field workers can arrive at the appropriate technical solutions (e.g. soil improvement, crop productivity, input requirements) soon after they have participated in the training course. This training package follows these steps, carefully integrating technical and managerial issues.
The course materials provide an introduction to each topic and are distributed to the participants during each training session after set out a programme of activities and technical information on each topic

- 17th AMIC Annual Conference - Asia Media Information and Communication Centre
-
Jul 14, 2008 - Jul 17, 2008,
Manila Hotel, Manila PhilippinesThe theme of the 17th annual conference is "Changing Media, Changing Societies: Media and the Millennium Development Goals". The key focus of this conference will be to see how an active and vibrant media can help in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The MDGs are a set of eight shared goals, responding to the world's main development challenges, which both developed nations as well as less developed nations hope to achieve by 2015. The year 2008 will be around the half-time mark to the deadline year of 2105, at which point the eight MDGs should have been reached. Today's media shapes public opinion, which in turn shapes an individual's perception of the world. Today not only are the traditional sources of media being used, but there is an increasing emphasis and shift towards new media sources like the Internet, mobile phones, podcasts and blogging. How have these media helped in the achievement of the MDGs? Has knowledge sharing helped developing countries develop effective strategies to address and reach the MDGs? These are some of the questions that the conference aims to address.

From an economic standpoint, most Asian destinations represent value, entertainment and a level of cultural richness that tourists crave from both outside and within the region.
Recent years have seen vast amounts of development in locally developed locations, world class attractions and international events that will bring more travellers to the East.
