Microlearning2008 Conference
Jun 25, 2008 - Jun 27, 2008,
University Innsbruck Innsbruck, Austria

is about the dramatic impact of digital microcontent on the way we are living and working.

→ Workers and learners become “digital beings” who will have to adapt to swimming in a sea of “micro-information”.

→ The patterns of attention of media users are undergoing fundamental changes.

→ Enterprises & educational institutions will have to reorganize information, communication, and learning for a new kind of “micro-information ecology”.

It’s not just about “Web 2.0” and “Mobile Web”. It’s more of a climate change. Our digital environment is increasingly being built on (very) small pieces of information that are loosely joined and constantly restructured. We not only need to find new ways of learning. We need to build new capacities for tomorrow’s knowledge and information workers.

For the 4th time, MICROLEARNING2008 presents a platform for international experts and practitioners from very different fields to discuss the latest developments in digital technologies and practices induced by microcontent.

The Seminar will present two complementary approaches, with examples of how this duty can be realised in practice through:

*** Risk assessment and appropriate instrumented protection systems: COMAH requires ‘Safety Integrity Level’ studies for all installations, coupled with Level of Protection Assessments for new installations.
*** Integrity management of assets and equipment to meet COMAH and other relevant regulations such as the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR), the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and HSE guidance on Storage of Flammable Liquids in Tanks (HSG 176).

3rd Annual Asia Bulk Liquid Storage Conference
    Jun 25, 2008 - Jun 27, 2008,
    GRAND HYATT Singapore

As one of the leading refining, oil trading centres and top petrochemical hubs in the world, Singapore has been aggressively pursing bulk liquid storage investments such as its Jurong Island Chemical Complex and Jurong Rock Cavern.

Surrounding Asian countries too have followed Singapore’s lead, such as Malaysia’s Johor Bahru 1.4 billion ringgit oil terminal project development and Oiltanking’s deepwater terminal in Indonesia. This trend has led to increasing focus on the bulk liquid storage market and has sparked increasing competition in regional oil trade.

In 2007, IBC Energy’s 2nd Annual Asia Bulk Liquid Storage Conference was a huge success which analyzed the growth of the bulk liquid storage market and explored technical operations, tank maintenance and risk management issues. This year’s 3rd Annual Asia Bulk Liquid Storage Conference, not only revisits some of these themes looking at the key lessons learnt, but boasts new business opportunities, strategies and best practices by key industry players.
