The Nigerian gas sector is embarking on an exciting period of growth and investment as the new President Umaru Yar’Adua focuses on repositioning Nigeria in a stronger position within the global gas market. Key new strategies are in place to ensure progress in the form of the development of a Natural Gas Policy, Legislative Reviews, Fiscal Reforms, and a Gas Master Plan.

Reorganisation of Nigeria’s energy sector will see a move to maximize gas sector value and provide for substantial improvement in the short, medium and long term power requirements of Nigeria. Additionally as a country with the 7th largest gas reserves in the world Nigeria, can make a significant contribution to the global gas supply.
