One of the ways to open this key is ERM, which many corporate managers are interested and aware to do something for it. But they are facing the issue that how far they should do and struggle. The one distinguish reason is that their focus is only ‘what manager have to do’ but they lack of thinking ‘what ERM means to managers’ and ‘what managers gain from ERM’.
Thus, in Japan, there are still difficulties to see practical image and to understand the status of ERM operation (how far they should do, which stage the proper ERM implementation is etc). So that they recognise the necessity of ERM installation but actual condition is that there are still few companies to implement and do active it practically. - full details
