The ECR is characterised by consistently developing new ideas and concepts, so that even those of us who attend the congress regularly tend to experience surprises.

Such surprises can be found in the scientific and educational programme, as well as in the organisation and general atmosphere. This is ensured by the highly competent team in the ESR office and also by the constant evaluation of the feedback of our participants, which is always highly appreciated and is integrated into our programme planning, to improve our congress.

The quality of a congress is naturally determined by its speakers, and once again we will welcome many excellent scientists from all over the world, who will share their knowledge and expertise with us at ECR 2008.

The interactive elements, which have been particularly well accepted in recent years, will be strengthened further. Categorical courses for MDCT, MRT and breast imaging will provide an excellent overview of especially important issues.

Stress Testing of Credit Risk Portfolios

The Research Task Force (RTF) of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision will host a workshop on stress testing credit risk for banks at De Nederlandsche Bank in Amsterdam on 7th March 2008. Through the RTF, the Basel Committee seeks to encourage research on this important topic by researchers within central banks and supervisory agencies, as well as by academic researchers. Submissions should be limited to unpublished, recent work.

The topic of the conference is stress testing of infrequently traded credit risk. The keynote speech will be given by professor Darrell Duffie.
