Fibroblast Growth Factors In Development & Disease

Recognising the field's importance and diversity, The 2nd Gordon Research Conference on FGFs in Health and Disease will showcase the timeliest research, and promote interdisciplinary exchange between scientists studying all aspects of FGF biology. Topics will cover FGF biochemistry, structure, signalling, development, physiology and pathology and a unifying theme of the conference will be the integration of our understanding of FGF function at different levels of biological organisation (molecular to the organism).

This conference places a strong emphasis on discussion and has an extended poster time. The inclusive policy on acceptance of applications ensures a strong mix of established investigators, junior PIs, postdocs and graduate students.

In the past decade lymphangiogenesis, lymphatic vascular biology, lymphatic transport, immunology and mechanotransduction have become a rapidly advancing field that plays a major role in understanding of tissue physiology and pathology, immunology, tumor biology, metastasis, tissue transport, and design of new interventions for disorders associated with the lymphatic system. New directions and tools were created in developmental biology and tissue engineering of lymphatics, lymphatic receptors and lymphatic cytoskeletal structures and signal transduction, biochemical and biophysical interstitial signaling mechanisms, as well as genetics of the lymphatic and vascular system. This conference will bring together biologists, physiologists, biochemists, biomedical engineers and physicians in basic and applied areas of lymphatic research for a broad dialog in this field and to determine future directions

As limnologists, oceanographers, and educators, water is the lifeblood of our endeavors. Now, as never before, we recognize the interconnections between land and sea, and at the 2008 bi-annual Ocean Sciences Meeting we are going to recognize the important nature of these connections. Please join us March 2-7, 2008, in Orlando, Florida, for this event. We invite you to participate through submissions to oral or poster sessions. Following the trend at our recent meetings, increasing emphasis is being placed on poster sessions with the goal of not limiting the number of concurrent oral sessions and giving greater exposure to presenters at all sessions. We especially encourage the submission of poster presentations as a very effective means of facilitating discussion of research. Poster sessions will be scheduled at times when there are no conflicts from oral sessions or scheduled special workshops, field trips, or town meetings. The poster sessions include receptions to provide opportunities to make professional connections in a social setting.
