- 14th Ocean Sciences Meeting
-
Mar 2, 2008 - Mar 7, 2008,
Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida United StatesWater connects and binds us all. It moves from the top of the highest mountain to the depths of the deepest oceans. As limnologists, oceanographers, and educators, water is the lifeblood of our endeavors. Now, as never before, we recognize the interconnections between land and sea, and at the 2008 bi-annual Ocean Sciences Meeting we are going to recognize the important nature of these connections. Please join us March 2-7, 2008, in Orlando, Florida, for this event. We invite you to participate through submissions to oral or poster sessions. Following the trend at our recent meetings, increasing emphasis is being placed on poster sessions with the goal of not limiting the number of concurrent oral sessions and giving greater exposure to presenters at all sessions. We especially encourage the submission of poster presentations as a very effective means of facilitating discussion of research. Poster sessions will be scheduled at times when there are no conflicts from oral sessions or scheduled special workshops, field trips, or town meetings. The poster sessions include receptions to provide opportunities to make professional connections in a social setting.

- 11th CASE Europe Schools Development Conference
-
Mar 2, 2008 - Mar 4, 2008,
Regency Hotel, Dublin, Ireland, United KingdomThis is the first CASE Europe Schools Conference to be held outside the United Kingdom. I am delighted with the warm and fulsome welcome we have received from our Irish colleagues, and share with them our pleasure that CASE Europe is now truly international.
This is also the first time that the CASE Europe Schools Conference has adopted a theme. We feel that the growth in our numbers is matched by an equivalent growth in the expectations of our profession. To that end, this conference marks a step forward in content and delivery. We no longer discuss simply databases for alumni; we consider CRM databases for our entire institution. Our plans for the advancement of our schools are no longer simply fundraising plans, but are actually considered and comprehensive plans for the future, out of which evolve fundraising components. We market our schools not simply to raise funds or to recruit pupils, but in order to present a coherent and consistent brand to the world.
We believe that this conference, with expert speakers from around the world, takes school advancement to the next level. I hope you find the conference is innovative, challenging, inspiring and educational. Most importantly, I believe it will help us enormously to Raise the Standard in our institutions and our profession. - full details

- Human Capital Management Exchange
-
Mar 2, 2008 - Mar 4, 2008,
Boca Raton Resort and Club, Boca Raton, Florida United StatesThis is an exclusive invitation only event specifically developed to address the most strategic issues that senior HR executives are facing today.
Organizations have come to the realization that at their core, it is their people, or their “human capital”, that make the difference and are acting accordingly. As Fortune Magazine’s ongoing “100 Best Companies to Work For” list shows, North American companies are constantly striving to attract the most, and more importantly the best, talent possible. Unfortunately, Human Capital Management is historically the least measurable feature of a company’s portfolio, and therefore there is a constant need for tools to help prove the value of HCM. As competition, and the pressure to prove HCM’s worth internally, rise, organizations are looking for anything that will set them apart in the marketplace. This event will bring together and elite group of senior HR executives looking for new resources, case studies of those who have managed to break away from the pack in Human Capital Management, and Service Providers who can offer technology and services to help prove the value of HCM. - full details
- E Retailer Summit
-
Mar 2, 2008 - Mar 4, 2008,
Intercontinental Hotel, Miami, Florida United StatesThe new ERA logo was unveiled at the Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. In keeping with the strategic objectives identified by the Board, we felt it was essential to increase the Association's focus on electronic retailers. Hence, for the March meeting, we felt that a natural corollary would be to not only rename what was formerly the Mid-Winter conference, but focus its content on the specific needs of Electronic Retailers or eRetailers. In addition, with the myriad of conferences available to our members, it is important that we differentiate ERA's meetings: the ERA Annual Conference celebrates the industry as a whole while The eRetailer Summit, the new name for this conference, is the forum where direct response experts converge to exchange knowlege in profitability, innovation, and expertise, thereby ensuring our e-retailers have the tools and information to succeed at the highest competitive levels.
