The Department of Pathology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School will present a 4 day postgraduate course in Cytopathology designed to be a unique interactive multi-head-like experience for the participant. This course is being held at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah, a AAA 5-Diamond hotel conveniently located near some of the best ski resorts with the most reliable snow fall in the West.
All tutorials will be 1.5 hours utilizing a combination of power point lecture material coupled with videomicroscopy of illustrative cases from the files of MGH and the University of Utah Health Sciences Center. Sessions will focus on specific selected topics covering some of the most challenging areas of cytopathology using a case based format. This format will provide for real-time microscopy on one screen, while the clinical, radiological and histological features of specific disease entities are highlighted using the more conventional power point slide format on the adjacent screen. This format also allows for an interactive educational session with registrants and the increased time per session with detailed coverage of each topic.

OBJECTIVE
Upon completion of this course, registrants should have the tools needed to interpret common and uncommon cytological specimens encountered in everyday practice of pathology, including those procured by endoscopic ultrasound guided biopsy. These tools include specific cytological criteria, diagnostic algorithms, and awareness of specific diagnostic pitfalls and ways to prevent them. Ancillary tests will be discussed where appropriate and incorporation of clinical and radiological information to refine the differential diagnosis will be emphasized. All registrants will receive a text syllabus including the power point lecture as well as a CD of images from the actual cases presented.
