GoingToMeet

The Ion Channels Gordon Conference of 2008 will continue the strong tradition of exploring the structure and function of all classes of ion channels, and strives to bring together scientists with diverse backgrounds to share insights of scientific as well clinical importance about the family of ion channel proteins. In addition to biophysically oriented structure and function, the meeting will offer sessions that will provide the latest information on the molecular composition and regulation of ion channels, the emerging roles and importance of the lipid environment in which the channels function, the consequences of mutations that underlie pathological states ('channelopathies') and their potential as therapeutic targets, and the integrated biological roles of ion channels.
