The 4th International Conference on Laser Probing LAP 2008 will be held at Noyori Conference Hall, Nagoya University in Nagoya, Japan, October 6-10, 2008. The International Conference on Laser Probing is a biannual conference for scientists, students and engineers working in the various fields of the fundamentals and applications of laser based methods and devices. The three previous conferences, LAP 2002 at University of Leuven, LAP 2004 at Argonne National Laboratory and LAP 2006 at Vienna University of Technology, have been held successfully.

Topics covered at LAP 2008 include: Analytics and characterization of solid, fluid and gaseous materials and particles; Optical spectroscopy of atoms, molecules, clusters and atomic nuclei;Reaction chemistry and ultrafast phenomena; Development of new laser-based technique and/or lasers for probing.
