The European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE) and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) are pleased to invite you to Shiraz 2009, the First International Petroleum Conference & Exhibition to be held in Shiraz, Iran. With Iran being OPEC’s second-largest producer of oil after Saudi Arabia and holding the world's second-largest gas reserves after Russia, it is clearly a key player in the international energy industry.

The conference has been themed “Bringing Knowledge and Technology to the Field” emphasizing the continuous need for developing and applying new knowledge and technology in modern oil production. The technical committee aims to put together a multi-disciplinary programme covering geology, geophysics and reservoir engineering. Short courses, workshops and fieldtrips will complete the conference programme. Parallel to the conference, an exhibition will be organized offering companies the possibility to present themselves to the Iranian oil industry.
