The event is being organised by the team behind drinktec, the World Fair for Beverage and Liquid Food Technology (www.drinktec.com), which takes place the following year, from 14 to 19 September 2009 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. The conceptual sponsor of drink technology India 08is the food machinery and packaging machinery trade association, confederated in the VDMA, Frankfurt, Germany´s engineering federation (www.vdma.com). Partners are the trade journal PETplanet, Heidelberg (www.petpla.net), and the publishers confructa medien, Strassenhaus (www.fruit-processing.com).

The congress with the subline “International convention for the beverage, liquid food and PET industry" consists of three main components: a conference, exhibitors´ forum and accompanying exhibition. Market data and trends as well as research and development are the focus of the conference. The exhibitors´ forum is a chance for exhibiting suppliers to show the latest technological developments by means of case studies and experience reports. Suppliers also have the opportunity of presenting their company in the exhibition area.
