4th Annual Obesity Drug Development Summit

"The Latest Market Intelligence and Scientific Breakthroughs for Advancing Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome Drug Development"

Jul 24, 2008 - Jul 25, 2008
Ritz Carlton Pentagon City, Arlington, Virginia United States

Highlights

CBI continues its tradition over the past three years of bringing together the industry's leading experts in Obesity Drug Development. Obesity has reached epidemic proportions globally, with more than 1 billion adults overweight - at least 300 million of them clinically obese - and is a major contributor to the global burden of chronic disease and disability. Obesity is associated with a wide range of comorbidities, including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, glucose intolerance, cardiovascular disease, sleep and respiratory problems, osteoarthritis and some cancers.

This fourth annual summit offers those in the field of obesity drug development a rare opportunity to compare notes on the hurdles, opportunities, and strategies over the next year. As in previous sessions of this valuable conference, attendees will have the chance to network with colleagues in the field, learn about the latest in preclinical and clinical developments and compare views on changes in the U.S. and EU regulatory environments. Once again, a talented array of speakers and several interesting panels have been put together to provide current updates and wide ranging perspectives on the challenge that is obesity drug development.
