CBI continues its tradition over the past three years of bringing together the industry's leading experts in Obesity Drug Development. Obesity has reached epidemic proportions globally, with more than 1 billion adults overweight - at least 300 million of them clinically obese - and is a major contributor to the global burden of chronic disease and disability. Obesity is associated with a wide range of comorbidities, including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, glucose intolerance, cardiovascular disease, sleep and respiratory problems, osteoarthritis and some cancers.
