CBI’s Forum on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) For Bio/Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices

"Adhere to Regulatory Guidelines to Ensure Compliant Relationships with Foreign Officials and Build Global Anti-Bribery and Corruption Procedures"

Jul 15, 2008 - Jul 16, 2008
Ritz Carlton Pentagon City, Arlington, Virginia United States

Highlights

CLE credits – pending approval
The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) makes it a felony for a U.S. citizen to offer or make a corrupt payment to a foreign official or political party to obtain or retain business. In many countries, hospitals are operated by the government, which makes doctors foreign officials. This causes the FCPA to be a key area of concern for bio/pharmaceutical and medical device companies operating overseas. This event provides attendees with tools to help build and maintain compliant relationships with foreign officials to ensure all international activities follow the guidelines of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Hear strategies from high level speakers from Biogen Idec, Ferring Pharmceuticals, Inc., Medtronic, Inc., Mylan Laboratories, Inc., Pfizer, TAP Pharmaceutical Products, and Zimmer.
Hear an overview of FCPA regulations and the legal landscape and participate in an interactive panel discussion on – Enforcement Trends within the Jurisdiction of the FCPA - featuring government speakers from the DOJ and SEC.
Additionally discuss the practical and operational issues affecting business operations overseas, specifically in Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America. Learn how to design and implement an effective FCPA compliance program and develop internal training programs.
