Micro & Nano Fluidics

Jun 01, 2008 - Jun 05, 2008
Hynes Convention Center Boston, Massachusetts United States

Highlights

Micro- and nanofluidic technologies have experienced a rapid development over the past few years. They find applications in such areas as Micro Total Analysis Systems, microelectronics cooling, e-paper, or microreaction devices, some of which are expected to make a considerable economic impact in the near future. Furthermore, nanotechnology often requires handling of molecules in liquid phase, so microfluidics can be regarded as an enabling technology providing a platform for manipulations occurring at even smaller length scales.

Compared to microelectronics, the design process for micro- and nanofluidic systems is in its infancy, and standard technological building blocks and unit operations are largely missing. The development of a corresponding design methodology requires the development of modeling and simulation tools as well as experimental procedures for validation and testing. The aim of this symposium is to give an overview of current trends in micro- and nanofluidics, with special emphasis on approaches taking steps towards a design methodology.

Over the last eight years, the Nanotech and MSM Conference Series has developed an incredibly strong Micro, Nano & Bio Fluidics Technical Community. The Nanotech 2005 saw over 250 papers submitted into these areas. Consequently, the Nanotech Conference invites you to submit your technical contribution related to all research, design, simulation, fabrication, application and commercialization of Micro & Nano Fluidics for the Nanotech 2008.
