HDAC Inhibitors: Targeting Oncology and Beyond

"Developing Candidates for Targeted Therapies"

Oct 22, 2008 - Oct 23, 2008
World Trade Center, Boston, Massachusetts United States

Highlights

Histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors are an emerging class of therapeutic agents demonstrating significant efficacy and safety in pre-clinical and early clinical studies. In recent years a number of novel and structurally diverse HDAC inhibitors have been identified as effective anti-tumor agents and are doing well in phase I and II clinical trials. Studying the signaling pathways that govern the mode-of-action of HDAC inhibitors and their functional implications in the cell is now an area of intense research.

CHI’s second annual conference on HDAC Inhibitors, to be held October 22-23, 2008 at the World Trade Center in Boston, focuses exclusively on the development of HDAC inhibitors. This day and half event features presentations, posters, and panel discussions to highlight the progress being made in the field and the lessons learnt along the way. The conference aims to provide scientists and executives in academia, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology companies, with information on both the pre-clinical and clinical development of these compounds. The interactive sessions, discussions and workshops are geared to provide ample opportunity for further networking and brainstorming. This meeting will be preceded by a day and half meeting focusing on Kinase Inhibitors.
