Highlights

The Kingdom’s agriculture industry continues to grow at 8% a year, driven by the massive population growth and the increasing demand for food and food-related products. This makes it the Middle East’s largest market for agricultural products and technologies. Saudi Arabia has implemented important initiatives to develop the agricultural sector, recognizing its vital role in the drive to become less dependent on imports and meeting the growing populations needs. A large portion of the budget has been set aside to increase agricultural productivity, develop new farming areas, improve quality and marketability, and for vital water conservation projects.
