IBC's 13th Annual "Drug Discovery & Development of Innovative Therapeutics" (DDT) World Congress, taking place on August 4-7, 2008 in Boston, will emphasize themes related to the application of translational research and technologies across therapeutic areas, to help move drugs to clinical proof-of-concept (POC) as quickly as possible. The program will also feature special in-depth concentration sessions on strategic applications and transforming technologies in discovery and development that are cross-functional regardless of disease areas. Sessions on pipeline strategy and partnering will complement the scientific sessions to provide a well-rounded perspective on both scientific and business approaches to accelerate drug discovery and development.

This year's event will provide in-depth content by therapeutic areas, with case studies of companies that are successfully transitioning projects from discovery through to clinical proof-of-concept. An emphasis will also be placed on "transforming technologies" which are helping to speed projects through discovery and into the clinic. Launching in 2008 will be an online partnering tool that allows attendees to pre-schedule meetings with other attendees prior to the conference. Over 3,000 attendees are expected to participate.
