The Summit will focus on the most promising advances in health care quality and safety improvement with particular emphasis on the leader’s role and responsibilities. While grounded in present day issues, the Summit highlights the most creative thinking and strategic approaches for positioning our organizations for a sustainable and successful future. The program features industry leaders and practitioners addressing the critical questions of organizational strategy and implementation, emerging physician-hospital relationships and business models, innovative improvement methodologies, and the impact of consumerism on the health care delivery system. We’ll look at the leadership commitment needed to improve quality and safety and explore new opportunities for engaging the workforce in creating cultures that attract and retain critical personnel and result in a better patient experience. We’ll focus especially on collaborating with clinicians on the quality charge and consider how innovative information technologies can facilitate clinical improvement efforts, refine business practices, and enhance patient-centeredness of the system. Throughout each of these content areas, we’ll continually share strategies for assessing progress toward the goal of improving patient care, consumer satisfaction, and community health.
