Upon completion of this educational activity, each participant should be able to:
• Explain the physiology and pathophysiology of normal and abnormal uterine bleeding. In this manner, the clinician will be better able to diagnose and treat abnormal bleeding, improving efficiency, and decreasing costs.
• Discuss the diagnostic modalities, and medical and surgical treatments available for abnormal uterine bleeding and their relative benefits. This will improve patient outcomes, including decreased costs and decreased complications, and increase patient satisfaction.
• Perform hysteroscopic myomectomy and hysteroscopic sterilization on training models. When transitioning this procedure to patients, both of these procedures will result in decreased costs, decreased complications, and improved patient satisfaction.
• Determine appropriate reimbursement methods related to hysteroscopic procedures. This will result in improved practice finances.
• Perform various hysteroscopic and global techniques for endometrial ablation on training models. This will improve patient outcomes, including decreased costs and decreased complications, and increase patient satisfaction.
