The Indian automotive market is one of the biggest growth markets of the next decade. More and more Indians, especially in the large agglomerations, profit from the buzzing economy in their country and invest in a vehicle. As a consequence, the traditional Indian car and motorbike manufacturers, their international homologues and the worldwide active suppliers look forward to a continued rise of their sales.

Where is this market headed technologically? Even small cars are equipped with more and more electronic systems, as the need for preserving the environment and saving fuel is universal – as is the interest of car owners in new technologies, be it with respect to comfort, security or information and communication. This symposium will give insight into automotive electronics in the Indian perspective, i.e. the technical, but probably also the socio-economic trends that are intrinsically tied to the world of modern mobility.
