Highlights

This 4 day course, sponsored by The University of Arizona, College of Medicine AzAHEC at the Arizona Health Sciences Center, is an intensive, individually tailored conversational and medical Spanish Workshop consisting of medical dialogues, role-plays, many colorful visual aids cross-cultural discussions, "edutainment", daily practice and evening study with a Text work-book and 10 audio cassette tapes or 10 CDs. These strategies strengthen the participants' abilities to meet the program's learning objectives.
The course curriculum provides for over 45 hours of total immersion learning. This approach has repeatedly proven to be extremely suitable for those with limited time, and who must use their new language skills immediately with their Spanish-speaking patients, affording a better understanding of cross-cultural communication and more cultural competency. To register for this intensive 4-day class, please visit our Registration or our Schedule for class dates and locations. Classes are limited in size to be able to give personal attention to each participant's needs. Early registration is suggested to guarantee your place.

Classes begin on Friday morning at 8:00AM and end approximately 4:30 - 5:00 PM, depending on class size, dynamic and speed. On Monday we will have covered the essential class material by 11:00 AM to noon in order to accommodate those who need to leave early to clear check points, metal detectors and security, etc. for return flights. Of course, those who wish to stay are welcome to do so, and we will be there to continue working with you, practicing your newly acquired skills.

You will need to bring the following:

Standard size cassette player or CD player. Earphones highly recommended. Needed for homework, not in class.
Spanish-English Pocket dictionary. Highly recommended.
Writing material to take notes during the class.
Comfortable clothing.
