The prevention, recognition and management of trainees in difficulty are major public issues. Serious behaviour or performance problems will affect clinical standards and may prove dangerous to patients. By focussing on real life situations this workshop provides participants with practical support on how to manage problematic trainees.
Learning outcomes

Recognise the early warning signs of a trainee getting into difficulty
Identify the factors to prevent disputes, misunderstandings and other problematic situations
Identify the roles and responsibilities of senior management and relevant supporting bodies
Implement strategies to help trainees address weaknesses and improve performance
