NEEDS STATEMENT: The specialty of Pediatric Emergency Medicine affects most Primary Care practices daily. Inappropriate diagnosis and treatment of the febrile infant and child continues to be a problem and there are new approaches to treating asthma. The frequent developments in the use of antibiotics and drug resistance, also mandates current knowledge of these topics. Therefore, Primary Care providers need to review and update their knowledge in this discipline regularly. This activity presents commonly seen patient problems that should help maintain the level of knowledge needed to keep the Practitioner current in prudent and practical clinical behavior in the discipline of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

OVERALL OBJECTIVES: The overall objective is to provide the participant with practical and clinically relevant information.
