On 4-5 February 2007, over 200 senior executives from all areas of the refining industry convened in Abu Dhabi for the 8th Annual Middle East Refining Conference. After its repeated success, The World Refining Association are delighted to announce their 2008 9th Annual Middle East Refining Conference will take place from 25–26 February 2008 in Abu Dhabi.
For the last 8 years this event has successfully brought together a distinguished audience involved in the refining sector and from the Middle East region and the rest of the world.
Co-Hosted With Takreer, the 2008 Conference will continue to address a comprehensive and up to date synopsis of the Middle Eastern refining sector focusing upon strategic expansion plans, which continue to progress at a rapid pace, ongoing policy developments to upgrade, integrate, modernise and expand refining facilities, enabling them to remain competitive whereas at the same time meeting international standards, especially when it comes to carbon emissions and climate change.

KEY TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:

• Update on the current position and outlook for the Middle East Refining industry. Focus to include: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, Bahrain, India and Asia.
•Middle East Operator experiences. To include: project updates, including operational maintenance, expansion plans for increased capacity and production and associated safety issues.
•Mega Projects. A review of newly announced projects, ongoing challenges
and a status update of ongoing projects.
•A look at new technologies and process innovations for the Middle East Refining industry.
Case study examples will highlight the use of new technologies and their successes.
