MOLTEN2008 is organized to provide an international forum for “knowledge pool” on subjects involving slags, fluxes and salts, both in ferrous as well as non ferrous metal production, glass technology, welding etc. It is aimed that the technologists and academia can discuss recent innovations and developments related to metal production, fundamental aspects, process optimization and recycling and utilization of byproducts.
Main objectives of the conference are:


• Identification of cutting edge technologies involving slags, fluxes and salts towards metals production.

• Further the understanding of the properties of ionic liquids and optimization of the same towards improved process efficiency.

• Provide a point of convergence of widely different areas like metals production, welding, glass industry, etc. to promote mutually-benefiting knowledge exchange.

• Provide a platform for international collaborations and virtual universities in order to promote educational activities and industry-academia contacts.
