The 12th annual Water Distribution Systems Analysis conference
Sep 12,2010 - Sep 15,2010The Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort, Tucson, Arizona, United States
-
Highlights
Several emerging areas associated with water distribution will be underscored:
· WDS as a microbiological system,
· Water security
· Sustainable WDS design/operation using the triple bottom line/ Water reuse/dual distribution networks design.
Further, a unique holistic perspective of contaminant intrusions including detection, source identification, and response will be highlighted through a series of sessions. We intend to bring together engineers and modelers with sensor developers and utilities to provide better understandings of the issues, needs and capabilities that can be used to protect consumers.
In addition, discussion themes and sessions at WDSA 2010 will include and are listed in the table below:
· Development, calibration and application of water distribution system models.
· Water quality monitoring technology and practices in distribution systems.
· Advances in network water demand estimation and water quality prediction
· Asset management and system rehabilitation
· Water supply system design and planning
· Improved hydraulic and water quality modeling techniques
· Other topics may include: leak detection, optimization of WDS design and operation, reliability and resiliency field studies.
