Highlights
This autumn SCI will open its doors for a series of Public Lectures. The lectures are free and open to everyone, whether you are a member, non-member or guest. They are part of an initiative led by the Membership Advisory Committee (MAC) and represents, a new way in which SCI aims to reach members of the public and provide discourse on SCI-linked topics as well as popular topical subjects. ‘Peoplequake: Mass Migration, Ageing Nations and the Coming Population Crash’ will be the first in the series
Synopsis
The good news is that we are defusing the population bomb. Women are having half as many children as their mothers did - all round the world. Fred Pearce explores how the peoplequake is taking us from a baby boom to a baby bust, and what it will mean for us all.
