Specific objectives of the conference are to: * create awareness among various stakeholders (parents, teachers, policy makers, experts) about importance of effective parenting * provide new and relevant information and skill development for parents * provide a forum to assist in the development of networks between people and organisations working with parents * create a platform for people and institutions to learn from each other’s experiences, strengths and questions * bring together a range of people and organizations who have delved deeply into issues related to raising happy kids * find ways to influence policy formulation and decision making at local, state and national levels to create effective programmes for kids and parents
