Doctors, patients, and money: the dirty business of making health in the NHS
Epidemiology & Public Health SectionMay 25,2010 - May 25,2010
Royal Society of Medicine, London, United Kingdom
-
Highlights
The NHS has undergone important changes in recent years with increasing emphasis on governance and good financial management. This has placed some requirements on all doctors to engage with financial processes such as commissioning which they had previously been removed from. Understanding these processes – their rationale and the possible outcomes – presents an opportunity to both improve the quality of care of their patients as well as turn their organisations into efficient and effective producers of health.
