In the last two months, “The Pearl’s” bouts with tropical storms and cyclones has been greatly chronicled in the international headlines. More than five hundred lives have been lost and millions of dollars worth of public infrastructure has been damaged by these storms and ensuing floods. Even at the time of this writing, another potential storm is being monitored by the local weather authority. It would appear that “The Pearl” has lost just a bit of her luster. Thankfully, the God of raging storms and engulfing floods is also the God of quiet and still waters, and by His grace, the resiliency of “The Pearl” stands tall amidst our recent natural challenges. As the rest of the Filipino people pick up the pieces of their interrupted lives, your single brothers and sisters in the Metro Manila Christian Church have hearts that are willing to carry on with what God inspired us to do. So, in the aftermath of several angry storms, we accelerate our pace and continue with our preparations to host the 2010 International Singles Conference.
