Defence Logistics Europe 2010

Defence Logistics
Mar 23,2010 - Mar 25,2010
Brussels Marriott Hotel, Brussels, Belgium

Highlights

Defence IQ’s Defence Logistics Europe 2010 event is dedicated to examining the sustainability of current operational commitments and how support to troops can be increased in the most efficient and effective manner possible.

Since 2008, Defence Logistics Europe has pioneered an approach away from unrealistic, concept driven logistics and been continually informed by an up-to-date operational picture that examines what is realistically achievable in keeping the front lines supplied.

At this year’s event, you will be able to participate in four themed sessions – each comprising four briefings:

• Mobility on Operations: The strain caused by logistic patrols and the supply of remote locations is on the increase. In response, we will explore the range of mobility innovations that might offer relief to forces including: precision air drop, autonomous ground vehicles and unmanned cargo aircraft

• In-theatre Sustainability: The environmental concerns that the rest of the world is waking up are the daily reality of combat. This year, we’ll look topics concerning the provision of clean water, alternative fuel and energy supplies, waste management and the emerging solutions that may offer a more efficient way forward for the armed forces

• Contractor Support to Operations: We will focus upon the integration of private contractor logistic support and supply chain management within a fighting force, looking at questions of security and protection, accountability and Command and Control of privately managed assets

• Multinational Logistics: Both NATO and EU lead operations involve complicated support networks that balance both national priorities and the demands of the wider coalition. We examine the organisational and interoperability challenges and how greater trust can be fostered to overcome these fundamental problems
