In the space of a few years, the United Arab Emirates have emerged as one of the top global golfing destinations! In 2008 Dubai was awarded Best Golf Destination for the Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean at the IAGTO Golf Tourism Awards held in Spain.

Soon to be home to the first course designed by Tiger Woods, the region is also home to great courses designed by Garcia, Singh, Els, Player and Montgomerie! Dubai is the final destination for the richest golf tournament in the world, The Dubai Championship part of the “Race to Dubai’, to be held on the new Earth course designed by Greg Norman.

The UAE and Dubai is therefore the ideal city in 2009 to host the International Golf Festival to be organised in the region. The Festival is supported by Leisurecorp and Jumeirah Golf Estates, organisers of the Race to Dubai and the Dubai World Championship.
